I'm not cranky at all It is just a tad bit silly to throw things back and forth as if they were facts whilst ignoring other peoples points or building up your statements.

That some of us like to reply argumentum ad hominem style, like comparing me to an insect when I'm just making a little observation on how people discuss in this topic is a bit silly, but it happens quite often in any discussion, unfortunately

And of course this is the internet; one'e carefully selected arguments may well be ignored by someone else

To each of us his own. For instance, even though Brightspark, Boinng and some others have carefully listed their points, I still think the only worthy Nokia is the N82. Only the Black one, too, at that. Some people think that Nokia is designed better, but not in my eyes. Does that mean I suffer from an eye condition? To me, Nokia makes more clones than SE or any other manufacturer for that matter.

Heh, call me a fanboy!

how convenient that you scoured the entire range just to find 6 that look alike. if you look at their ENTIRE RANGE, you will see that they have considerably more variabily than the entire range by SE.

shall we do the same with SEs range? look at their entire range here:
http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson-phones-19.php
if you can't see that within the form factors that one SE is just a carbon copy of all others with either the colour changed or the shape of the buttons changed, then you need to book an appointment with an optician now.
-look at the overall dimensions -they are ALL the same blocky squarish ugly design
-look at the buttons used ON EVERY SINGLE SE - they have used about 4 or 5 templates for their entire range

I recently went for an eye check and my sight is still better than that of most of the population. Oh, and changing the button shape and layout, body shape, accents, materials and colours does technically change the whole design.

And, my dear friend, those are 7 phones.
Nokia's most recent high-enders (excluding the navigator up to a point).

by that reasoning, all those 6(visible models) are all different. you need to go back to your optician for a second opinion. failing that, your doc may be interesting in why you are seeing differences that don't exist.

Regardless that N85 ranks up there with the S500i in lousy attempt at plastic construction. The difference imo is the N85 is supposed to a "high" end phone. It was arguably the poorest constructed phone I have ever owned. And given the amount of complaints on other sites, I'm not alone in that opinion. That said the Nokia E71 is arguably the best all around phone I have ever owned. I can think of several SE phones that I felt were well put together - the T650i and the K790a. Yes the later model had joystick complaints (never had the issue with the two I owned).

Those are 7 DIFFERENT phones. N85, N81, N96, N86, N78, N82 and the Navigator

I stitched those images together. I should know.
