After some lurking at the Sun official FBT updates thread on PinoyDen, there is a little hope for Sun subscribers.
Looks like that the Socket protocol is
partially open in the "minternet" access point. Use the said access point with no proxy to access Opera Mini 4.2 unmodified and signed. Haven't tried on other browsers on my G502.

try to connect your phone to the internet (in any way, preferably Opera Mini or UCWeb) using SUN WAP as your settings ("wap" APN,
default IP and port). Let it connect. If it shows the FTC (for Opera Mini 4.2, means Failed to connect) or UTC (for Opera Mini 5.0, means unable to connect), let it be. Just make it sure that you're still connected within 5 minutes and 10 seconds upon successful connection (for Nokia S60 devices, see Connection manager; for Sony Ericsson handsets, check your phone's notification bar, by minimizing your application, if you can see a globe icon). If you're still connected after 5 minutes and 10 seconds, try to load a page (if your phone has a web page loading, cancel it then try to load it again). It will load like a charm.
