Oh dear well I think that's a good & bad thing. Some people still want a normal phone but not in the form of the cheap Spiro I also think like Nokia still need to keep their own UI going like Nokia has S60 & S40. Has a200 & Android. Android is not their own.

Indeed, let's hope they realise that, i'd be disappointed if their entire mid to high ends is just Androids, i wish they would do an Aino2 and Hazel replacement, both based on A300 and maybe even a Cyber-shot candy bar with Xenon to replace the C901.

Yeah they seem to have lost the plot on alot of their a200 phones cos of Android. Imo the x10 camera is poor & from past experiences with smartphones their cameras were crap. But yes we need more top Walkman Cyber-shot & not just Android other wise will be putting all their eggs into one basket & Android may become stale & boring.

Just few days ago I was complaining about this smartphone revolution we're going through on another forum and someone replied with a "The world is moving on. Deal with that"..

I just can't take all that ignorance happening around!!

Everyone horny about huge touch screens smartphones while all they need is use a phone for calling and SMSing, as a walkman maybe, and as a camera as well...

The vast majority of smartphones owners don't need 200k apps, nor constant synching, nor multi-tasking, no instant internet access with huge screens and optimized browsers for that, push emails, and other stuff on their phones!!

Feature phones are capable of most of that anyway, and in a more focused approach depending on the main feature each phone is meant to..

Like a recent friend of mine in Australia.. She asked me whether is it better to go with an N8 or an iPhone 4 as her new phone..
She told me she'd use it for calling, and occasionally as a camera a she has a high-end compact.. And she needs one good looking elegant phone.. No other uses whatsoever!

I told her why these two in specific.. Why not just go with a Nokia, or SE, or Samsung stylish feature phone..

And between those two, the N8 looks more attractive, better for calls, and obviously a better camera..
Yet, she ended up with the iPhone 4...

Another one in Netherlands was confused between the Galaxy S and the Desire!! I swear she wouldn't tell what a smartphone is!!

But when those average users go in the internet, and all they get, no matter what site they visit, reviewers talking about high-end touch Android phones, and the iPhone, and hammering other phones with stupid bullshit, they'd think there are no even other options out there!!

And that friend of mine who owns the HD2 (already mentioned him before), he only uses it for calling!
He tried taking pics, they looked rather embarassing, so he stopped doing that..
And that phone looks even bigger in his small hands! It's really funny!! Or pathetic mabye.. He doesn't even have an internet package on the phone!
And many others. Quite many!

A sad reality.. But I think it will change back. People will eventually realize that 200k apps is nothing but some propaganda tool to fool users..

But what's driving me crazy are those low to mid-range Android phones, which can't play decent music, nor shoot a decent photo, nor even make use of the Android OS due to that f**k'n small screen and low resolution..

Just bring back the feature phones!

I never thought I would end with a Symbian phone you know..
But with feature phones dead, Nokia's approach with their Symbian phones come next.
It's jsut now that I see how innovative Nokia were with this approach by combining what a feature and a smartphone should be in one phone..

And to compete with those super huge mini Android tablets, they're going with Meego..
Pretty wise and using Qt for both of their platforms is just brilliant.
Still, I wish SE bring back the C, and W series phones.. Even an Hazel would do.. Doesn't it Bono?

You are right that's why I am looking forward to my w995 & Hazel. A w995 can do email, music, camera, calls, texts & so on. Apps are not really important in the real world although a few maybe useful I can live without it

Personally, I hate using smart-phones for texting and calling, using buttons is so much easier... but the fact is that the market for feature phones has dropped completely over the last few years now smartphones are here. As i said before, it's a matter of selecting a phone that best matches your needs, if browse the internet, use apps and play games constantly then a big screen smartphone is the best. If you send a billion texts a day or are from america then get a blackberry, if you just want a simple easy to use phone then a feature phone is the best option.
But i dont see the point of having 2 feature phones at the same time, for me, one is almost always not used.

Great pics taken by your N8 you posted on the photos section. Too bad that the rating is being manipulated.
