It looks like they would have carried on using the company's designs indefinitely had they not been caught.

But they never had none matey..
This is why i kick up such a stink on forums these days whenever i have any reason to mention Apple. They're the ones who copy, bully etc.
Such great news about them losing all these cases and other legal battles. I just hope this can all come to an end now and companies like HTC will be left alone to get on with it.

Ah but now this. So now if I buy a HTC I am feeding Apple more money??

This is gonna be the same for all the industry soon we'll all be filling Apple's pockets. I know that Microsoft gets money for every Android phone sold but this is crApple

@ Bonovox - im sure whatever money goes to Apple a certain amount Apple will have to pay HTC also. The agreement is bound to work both ways.
Patent licencing is such a complex game im sure they all have to pay each other something when using each others patents.

This is a very good article and worth reading!
A conciliatory Apple would be real innovation

Yeah id agree with that.
I dont think Tim Cook is the peacekeeper that the article is portraying him as though. I think he probably can see the obvious - that if Apple continue down the path of aggressive tactics towards their competition they'll backfire and will be the end of Apple and their reputation.
I never really thought Jobs was all that great kind of guy everyone said he was. I dont think he alone innovated to the extent people reckon. He was a megalomaniac, Cook is more rational.
