Is there a way to search the EC like the FCC for new fillings?
There probably is, but I am not immediately aware of where to go to do that.
Quick google search didn't make it very obvious either. If there is a way, and sony filed something, then i would imagine SOMEONE would have reported it by now too.
Don't see anything either, if it does exist, it may not be public accessible.

Xperia models for Japanese carriers are often the first to pass FCC certification. Last year's 1 VI was at the end of March.

If the new model does not pass certification at the end of March or early April, the release will likely be delayed.

Or the actual planned release was never supposed to be May/June, but later on?

At this point anything from sumo is speculation. Why would Sony invest in a new 5 when they killed it off last gen? Unless it's specs would be nerfed even more. But at this point, why add a 5, just rebrand the 10 to be a better mid level device, which they won't.

I agree. None of that info on sumo about a 5 and 10 seems credible. They aren't gonna spend more time, money, and resources on something they didn't seem worthy of having last year.

Leaked specs?? Isit real?? @spek
Ultra wide & Telephoto sensor increased size. Optical zoom increased from 85-170 to 70-200. Main sensor last 3 generations same as previous but will likely improve to final processing capability. 4K display, 19.5:9. This spec seems most realistic.

Based on how quiet murmurs have said the phone would be, this does feel in line with that.

I kind of think they will use back the same display as the xperia 1Vi. Make It brighter and make better cooling so as to increase workload as well as handle the bigger sensors.

This same info from a tweet below.
Please note that these specs are based on recent reports and rumors, and the actual details may vary.Recent developments suggest that Sony will equip a 200MP primary camera while maintaining the same lens size as its predecessor. However, the ultra-wide and telephoto cameras are likely to remain unchanged.Plus, to enhance long-term battery health, Sony may stick with 30W fast charging support.Stay tuned with us, we'll be providing latest updates to you.
