Did the guy step on Sweet's toes a bit? Sure he did. But all he did was take the background. I fail to see the problem here, especially since, as many have pointed out, all the icons were stolen in the first place.

If sweets wants to leave, then fine. I think he does great work although personally I haven't used it other than just to test. But whatever. I'm already sick of this topic.

Totally agree with you!

What's even worse: he acuses others of stealing his work while I actually know he stole the trick about showing the bottom bar from someone else and now he claims he's the only one who knows it.
I read the post explaining how to do this before he ever showed up with it.

He's just a young guy that likes the attention. his posts are HUGE and ubiquitous. And under several aliases.

Official designer for Symbianware.... pah!

There's only so much angst that can go around...

Quite a few of the skins posted are based (rather largely) on Windows and Macintosh themes. Fine.

But for skin designers to get all bent out of shape because someone modified THEIR work when they've based most of their own skin design on screens/icons taken from a PC or Mac operating system, is a bit much...

Reminds me of the "Winamp OGGplay" screener who got upset if people posted the skin on other websites. Since it was just the Winamp UI revamped for OGGPlay, I'd say that the original Winamp authors have more right to say what's done with it then he does.

Remember folks, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I'd like sweetheart to answer this:

Given that he altered the illegally distributed camcoder application, including modifying its name to refer to himself, does he consider this to be better or worse than someone modifying his XP-derived skin?

Is he familiar with the concept of hypocrisy?

@Sweetheart:
Its already been said "Imitation is the best form of flattery".
Your reaction to this skin is WAY over the top. Especially since you even recieved an apology in advance.

True greatness is achieved when people can not only recognize the beauty of the work you've done, but also become inspired by it. For you to be so upset, as to not see that this is exactly what occured is a pity.
Now it just looks like you're afraid of competition, instead of acknowledging high praise from one who has learned from you.

People respect you for what you do, as well they should, but perhaps you should show them you're deserving of that respect by being the bigger man sometimes.

Or are we all to imagine that Alexander Graham Bell is turning in his grave right now. Pissed as hell at the "thief" who "stole" some of his ideas to design better telecommunications and cellular technology???

No flack, No flames, not calling names.
That's just my 2 cents y'all.
