well, my definition of a newbie is:
someone who knows nothing and has no regard for learning.. just comes on here, asks the most idiotic question(s) like "I think I'm the first one to hv noticed this! but if u pull out the battery from the phone, it shuts off.. y does this ONLY happen to me??"
basically questions that hv obviously been answered before if u use just a bit of logic
someone who has no regard for a forum's rules
he'll post questions about siemens in a nokia forum (example)
posts his question in every single forum...
or ppl who go insane if their question hasnt been answered within 20minutes of actual post
or jump into a conversation without knowing facts or anything and argue
(kinda like the BigFeat thing, where all these newbies kept backing him up without actually knowing wtf was going!)
users like dat kind of piss me off
I'm not saying ban registration.. just control those ppl or their actions better
ie: my-symbian has a bunch of newbies.. but none of em go around posting their questions a trillion times and do any of the behaviour mentionned above
I'm not comparing, I'm just saying it is possible to hv such an environment where everyone respects the rules...
sure there is a couple of times when it might happen
but believe me, it happens once in a blue moon...
anywayz, I think I've said enuff to get me flamed for another 4 pages....

well it is becuz of posts like theirs that make the search function unuseable
and creates "clutter" in the sections
I cant find important threads sometimes that were on the first page due to dump posts like that...
perfect example:
the new thread about phones on planes
we had a thread about 2months ago discussing this
there were some good arguments I want to bring back
I cldnt find the thread..
all I found were threads "What is wrong with my T610?" "P900 Official!"
"P800 and bizarre triangle"

either way I must say its not my favourite smilie as its much easier to use that than actually help the person, and for some people it seems to be used like some kind of power thing like "I'm better than you" or something...
