How easy it is to mock opinions we disagree with.... somehow we seem to forget the point of a forum don't we?
In the market for a phone/pda combo at the moment, I consider myself unbiased... my membership to this forum is one of many for different manufacturers of different phones, to try to ascertain the correct choice for me... (I am not against nokias either, the little 8210 was my firm favourite for quite some time)
This nokia certainly isn't nice though... no matter what people say, image is very important... if you are paying multiples of hundreds for a phone (that seems to be what it is classed as, amongst other things), then it must look good, but moreso it must look like you've paid hundreds for it... superficial I know, but hey we're only human...
At some point in the day you would have to take that thing out of your pocket... kids may find it cool (this is the only market i can think of for it)... But anywhere else (although as some suggest, it may be well received at the restaurant)... Which makes me wonder who it really is aimed at... it certainly is not in the same league as the P900/800 - nevermind criticising for mentioning the nokia in a SE forum, but how can you even begin to compare the nokia with the P900... probably the closest competitor for the P900, as mentioned in the forum hundreds of times now, is the XDA 2 (both in cost and features), and maybe this is the only device that can out do the P900, but thats a different matter...
Nokia appear to be way too gimmicky lately, just look at the aol icon... or forthcoming 7600 (features may appeal to some, but if you're too embarassed to use it in public, then what is the point?) as they prefer to call it... quirky designs are nice, but they won't appeal to everyone, (maybe no-one at all)... features are way more important, as is the priority placed upon each feature in the design (something nokia have forgotten about, it being even mentioned on a phone forum, suggests it is widely regarded as a phone... sort of)
When you look for a phone, then you must know what you are looking for out of it, until then, randomly finding the newest nokia monstrosity (or siemens) for SE forum members to discuss (criticise) is a little pointless, since we all know what will (has) happen(ed)!

As has already been mentioned, the features are better than the P900, but thats not even what level the 7700 is aimed at coming in at. Nokia are making another smart phone which will be a business model, and an upgrade of the 9210... drool...
I wont buy the 7700, but plenty will. It will be interesting to see if more are sold than P900's.

umm....someone said that t610 screen is one of the worst screens in the market, well compared to nokia 4k 128*128 screen it's alot better, though i'm speaking this from my own experiences and i'm not just looking at the facts, and if someone says this it's obviously that he doesn't have a t610!! yes the t610 screen is stn and yes it's much worse than for instance t630 screen (i've seen them both on videos and the diffrence is visible) but still it beats nokias and siemens screens and that is what most of the reviews said, though i remember that somebody said that the reviews said that it sucks, and can you please post me a link because i think i've read at least 10 reviews of the t610 and none of them said that!!
as for thr nokia 7700, a great phone with excellent features and i must admit that i was astonished when i found out about it, but the other day a friend has asked me which is the best phone coming soon, and i replied 7700, he then asked me if i can show him a picture, and when he saw it, the only thing that came out of it's mouth was: another gameboy?
I think nokia has excellent tech and quality but i'm not very fond of them because of the design for instance I'am really looking towards the 6230, 6600 but i have lost any interest on other nokias..... sad really
ps: umm.... for hurny i think: the 3650 is the biggest ugliest phone out in the market!! I would be really angry on se if it did something like that, and was because of the t300, but t300 looks good compared to this box or whatever...... you said that it's logical that it's that big because of the mmc slot and big screen well the 6600 and p800, p900, send x proves you are a moron that doesn't understand how much space a thing takes, I mean i was really pissed when i've read this because you are talking about how se centered are we here and then boom! a remark about the 3650 with a 100% nokia rules signature on it, i men wow how narrow minded can you be.....

I'm afraid I don't quite follow you there. I wonder if anyone does?
Anyway. I don't want to argue or cause flame wars anymore. But please, let's not forget the 7700 isn't what Nokia will attack the P8/900 market with. They are developing a new Communicator for that. The 7700 just gives us a taster of its features (and not looks) them both being Series 90 devices.

Point taken- I didnt remember the crappy 6610 etc. screen. The T610's is slightly better.

Take another look at the phones you use as 'proof' that a MMC and large screen cause a phone to be bigger. The P800/900 are JUST as big as the 3650, and of course the 6600 is smaller, its about a year ahead of the 3650 (thus why I will be getting one).
I mentioned the 6230- not you. I mentioned it because its an example of how a company can create a phone WITH those type of features, but smaller.
I didnt mark the 3650 as 100% pro Nokia. I admitted that it is ugly. I admitted that the 7700 is ugly. I also admitted that the features SH*T all over the SE phones in that category.
And as has already said. Features are more important than looks. The 7700 will sell.

I believe Noka lost the plot a long time ago and has alot to do to catch up with the makers. 2 years ago it controlled alot of the market share but now other companies are right on there heels.
BTW P900 is for ppl who need its functionallity and have a level of class. I cant wait to see the first person holding that monster at a train station. Ill take a photo with my P900 and post it for all SE fans to laugh at.

well 3650 is not that heavy but it's longer than the p800 so it gave me an impression that there's too much of unused space in 3650, though i don't rreally know because se doesn't have any youth smartphones so i guess it isn't quite correct to compare 3650 and p800......
Actually you said that 6600 is a year younger, and yes i know that but i was then thinking that 3660 is even younger then 6600 and it's still the same size as the 3650....., But as i said i don't really know if you can compare the sizes of 3650 and other phones because 3650 is something special so i don't know.....
But I am very very very etc. pleased that nokia introduced 6230 because i'm seriously thinking of getting one
I really do hope that the communicator will look good, because there isn't much of a choice now if you go to a store and ask for a touchscreen phone and as consumer i would like to have a decent choice.......
