This all explains the problem I had recently. I bought a leather-case to have the phone in my belt. The brand is Krusell and when I first put down the phone in the case the leather had not expanded so the case was a little to tight. This made the phone turn off and I thought it was some kind of loose parts in the phone making this happen under preasure. Obviously it was the case pushing the no-button!
Anyway, I just turned the phone so that the keypad was located in another way and it has never happened again.

This is NOT a bug, people please calm down. Becuase it isn't documented, does not mean it is a bug, that's as crazy as saying the new T9 features on the latest software is a bug, because it isn't in the manual.
Oh and btw, this isn't a new discovery, I read about this ages ago.
When a phone crashes(and I say when, because all new phones crash sometimes, like it or not) it is a helluva lot nicer to be able to hold down the no button for 10+ secs, than removing the battery. Removing the power to shut down an electric appliance is a bad idea no matter what it is, therefore I am happy this FUNCTION is present. I am pretty sure you will find this FUNCTION on all of Ericsson's latest phones.
I've had a T68 since December, and it has crashed on me 3-4 times, not once since I got it upgraded to R2B though. It was nice to be able to shut it down without tearing out the battery every time.
And finally I'm wondering, what do you people do to your phones??? I hear tales of problems upon problems, and now people complain about this FUNCTION causing them headaches, cause it turns off in their pockets. What are you guys wearing? Latex? I have the phone in my pocket a lot, and it has NEVER shut down on me. Putting the kind of physical pressure you folks do on your phone cannot be good at all.

I have experienced the phone turning off itself 2 times to be exact... but since it was 2 times in 6 months, I didnt go ask SE or have it serviced. One thing I want to tell you guys is that both of the time, I noticed the phone turned off because I found it vibrat all of a sudden (turned itself on all of a sudden)... so now thinking back, it must be becuase I have it in the pocket with something and it was holding down on the NO button... so after 10 sec, it turned off... but since the thing is still pushing it... 2 more second later, the phone turn itself back on...
Getting something to press the NO for 10 sec is pretty hard and if that does really happen, most often then not, it will probably hold for 2 more second, so you will be fine... If it so happen the No was pushed in for 10 sec and then somehow it let go, then consider yourself not too lucky that day... hehe...
I agree that this cannot be a bug, its a function... just like our notebook and PC... and I think it is ok...

Mine desktop computer also gets off when pressing power button for long time even if CTRL-ALT-DEL AND
RESET buttons doesn't help! I also can switch off the power by removing the 220/230V power cord(!) but this is crazy way - your motherboard is ALWAYS under voltage (uses power) even if you have shuted down your PC ... so sometimes removing the power cord may broke your motherboard forever!!!
I think that a lot of parts in phone (like memories) also uses power always (off cource it condicators here and other power saving parts so it can work without battery for some time) and it is not good way to restart phone by removing battery!!!
So it is VERY GOOD function (hope you will never use it)!
And I also keep mine T68 in leather case FOR NOKIA 8310(!!!) so it is a bit smaller than for T68! But I NEVER had problems with this No-button option! I also keep mine T68 in pocket when on working and also had no that problems!
If you are looking T68 phone that work without bugs so it is mine T68 with R2B013 SW (at least at the moment). THe only problem I had with old SW was GSM-field problem - sometimes I couldn't call beacause phone sows NO GSM-FIELD (when it was on NOKIA phones with same operator). And it is also was not fast GPRS sometimes! But after visiting SC (it was only one time & my phone was here for only 2 days) where I also get new R2B013 SW mine works fantasticaly fine and even GPRS is VERY VERY FAST now! I'm very happy now with mine T68m and just waitng for MMS upgrade! I also think that T68m's HW is better than T68i ... I hate blue LED's but white-orange (MORE WHITE!) LED's on mine T68m is VERY nice! And I can see every letter on the buttons with this LED's in a dark!!! Never understood this problem with LEDs!
I think that Mr. Noodles is just VERY CRAZY with his idea to change his T68m to T68i WITHOUT no fee and looks for bugs even in phone legal functions!
Mr. Noodles, if you realy want T68i so sell your T68m and then buy new T68i!!!

Before my upgrade to R2B013, my t68 would reboot or go off by itself. Now it's fine. As to the NO button during keylock, it goes off after continuously pressing the NO button for approximately 10 seconds.
I do suggest one tries to use the NO button should the phone hang. It isn't safe to pop off the battery that way. Although I must admit I did it a couple of times
