This doesnt actually work, check your memory status with the "small" pic, then delete it and look at the memory status again, it will go down by about 40 Kb

Doesn't matter about memory reports, there's no doubt it gives a higher quality picture. Just take a close up of newsprint normally, keep the phone in the same position and do the rapid press trick in the same position. Now look at how pixelated the first one is, the 2nd is crystal clear.
