@bobafett - Sorry there mate (again) - If I have offended you, is that the one re: the Nokia 3650, which has a very bad design similar to a tv's remote? If so, I just guess that the Nokia 7650 is more appreciated then. Cheers!

@jowi - Yup, it's quite hard mate. To be honest, I almost had all of Nokia's fone in the past (change, change, change), and this 3650 did not even entered my mind of owning one - not my type really !

It is the bad voice and loosing words! Generally often miserable acoustics! Very annoying to repeat all the important information. This message was posted from a T39

You have not seen the ugliest phone ever. Check this out the Nokia 7600.

I don't see your problem with Nokia's more recent designs, what's wrong with a little experimentation? They may not be to your taste, but you would soon complain if eveything looked the same.

Of the more outlandish offerings, I've had a 7650 and a 3650. The 7650 was great except for it's lousy memory capacity, (4Mb dynamic if I remember correctly) as it prevented you from having any decent amount of WAV. ringtones. The 3650 was more or less the identical but with more memory. The dodgy key layout may have taken a week or so to get used to, but at least your mates couldn't just pick your phone up and start messing around with it.

Nokias Series 40 OS is my real pet hate, especially in conjunction with a 4,096 colour screen (the small ones). It's so dull and inflexible. I like to see a grid or list view of my apps, so I can see where things are and what I can do with them. Series 40 only allows one item to be on the screen at any given moment. It somehow gives me the feeling that I have to fit the phone's expectations rather than vice versa.

Still, I could be talking out of my arse, which I'm sure somebody will gladly point out!

What!!! look at the new SE designs, they're perfectly normal and good looking and they dont use stupid keypads and stupid shapes, they keep it simple and they are still the best. I used the n-gage today.

here's my review: I was playing tomb raider and it turned off halfway through gameplay. They don't use the official bluetooth logo and therefor my SE brain was confused. To sum up its shit and 3 times the size of my T610.

As @tec9 wrote, simple and almost shy design can hide real magic. Thats what real success means. This message was posted from a R520

Don't get me wrong, I like the new SE designs, and some of the Nokia ones are nothing short of bizarre. It's not written anywhere though, that a phone has to be a certain shape or size. An N-Gage is bound to be bigger than a T610. A horizontal T610 would make a lousy game controller, which is part of what the N-Gage is. Simply saying a phone is 'shit' isn't very constructive. What you mean is that it is not what you want (so look elsewhere), and if a logo differs, then does it really matter so much?

You have to admit that there was nothing shy or simple about the 7110, 9xxx series or the 7650, but they were all pretty revolutionary. My P900 is great, but it's far from beautiful!
