To update your phone
1 .Place your mobile phone in off mode in sync cradle -
2. Disable Firewall on your pc/laptop (Norton Internet Security / Mcafee fireware e.t.c)
3 .Disable Any Antivirus SOftware
4 . Disable any Pop AD Blockers
5. GIVE IT A GO!!!
the above worked for me im on XP SP1

I'm at a loss too when it came to updating my P900's software!
After having followed instructions on using the "recovery mode" option, it actually moved beyond the "error in communications" problem. However, it brought the phone back to the phone's previous CDA and now cannot update to newest R4B03.
In summary...
Before recovery:
CDA was 162003/8 - upgradable to R4B03 (latest version)
After recovery:
CDA reverted to 162004/14 - upgradable to R1A05 only (same version that came with the phone when I first got it!)
Any suggestions? I find no sense as to why there is so much trouble with doing these online updates!
Any help would be appreciated!

"CDA162003/11R1B is not supported or you have entered an incorrect number.
If the number is correct it means that your operator does not approve usage of the service for this device. If the number is incorrect, click Back and enter the right number. "
i really have no clue what happen, and i did have the CDA # that im sure i haven't entered it wrong. however i did choose upgrade automatically.. and my organiser is CXC162025 RaA08
all the expert here please help

I've just update my software this afternoon. The step i followed are:
1) Download the latest PCsuite 2.3.1 from SE website
2) Do backup for the phone
3) Download the update version from SE website
4) Install it and will launch a new Java page
5) Disable every anti virus and Firewall.
6) Install finished
7) Do restore from the PCSuite
Uninstall the Ezitap (Only for non Ezitap User)
9) Reinstall Ezitap (Only for non Ezitap User)
10) Everything Done!!!!!

jack078, you're entering the CDA incorrectly, it should just be CDA162003/11
when you enter that it says the latest version is R3A07

cda 162003/9 R4A04
so is upgrated only organiser,,so could some one tell me please what is organizer?
and one more question,the old firmwire i upgrated i signs R4A04 but on the update site(sony) it says that a new version is availeble R4A06 but when i upgrated and looked in the system ,i see that the firmware is accualy a R4A04???
and now i see that the R4A04 is the same but organiser is update so what is organizer??

if i do snynhronise when i do it, i only get chech box for a contact nothing else..
what i must chech or something that when i do backup the program,contact,theme,melody,and melodys for sms,ring or something will be the same like before? please help

so...let me get this right.
My phone is orange branded, but i had it unlocked to use my o2 sim cards. Does that mean the updater will lock my phone back to orange again, or will it simply not work?
