Just got the phone on orange and the lack of shortcuts is shocking, especially as it is mentioned in the manual. Has anyone contacted orange as to why they would do this? There doesn't seem to be any logic at all as to why they would do this.

The shortcuts on the screen would not be needed if we could customise this phone as it supposed to.

The lack of the more button too is terrible. How do I put the phone into silent mode without having to go all through the menus?

i went into the orange shop today and asked about renewing my contract (everday50 (yeh i know they're trying to phase it out cos it's so good!) and was told that i'd have to pay £149ish pounds for a K700 and also that even though i had a phone to trade in they wouldn't take that off the price of my phone, they'd only credit my bill with that amount i'm not happy...

Soooo does anyone know if/when orange will be bringing down the price of this phone?

phone and tell them you want to cancel due to their upgrades being too expensive. i did just that and they gave me a free k700i with an extra 30 mins of free talktime for 18 months (even though my new contract is for another 12 months)

Quote:considering it's 2 clicks to get to your camera (action-4), it's a completelly pointless customisation.

What makes it even worse is that it's actually only one click for camera, 'cos there's already a shortcut button for the camera on the side of the phone. Also, the side volume butons are suposed to act as the zoom buttons just like it were a real digital camera (also in manual), hence 'dual front' philosophy.

I have contacted Orange, and have had a load of hastle already as they didn't believe I'd bought the phone when I did due to them seeing the upgrade starting when the SIM's swapped. I actually bought the phone two days b4 this! :s Anyway, I've logged my complaints and am awaiting a response. May still have to return to CPW though for an exchange or refund.

also, one of my favourite little features on the this phone, and the t610, is missing on the orange software. When you get a text you don't see who it is from when it arrives (or see a picture if there is one in your phone book). All you get is messages: 1

Very dissapointed with the orange software. If anyone finds a place in London that will flash the original firmware please let me know.

Thanks

Vodafone and Orange have changed the phone so much it's shocking. If I were you Orange and Vodafone K700i users, I'd take your phones back, get your money back, make them give you your PAK code, and go straight to O2.

I don't understand how they can get away with this. If you went to McDonalds, asked for a BigMac Meal, and they only gave you chips and a coke, would you or would you not be pissed off?

Also i may consider thrwoing eggs at him and water ballons with coloured water. Then walk out calmlty then leg it!

I don't know. I think it'd be safer if you took your phone back, got your money back, made them give you your PAK code, and went straight to O2.

Double texts and minutes for the first 6 months, and free SMS, MMS and calls from 7-8 in London?

Bargain.

Plus I sold the O2 Music Player they gave me free with the K700 for 80 quid.

heh

Well i'm sticking it out with orange when i get my k700. I really don't like 02 and would rather have missing shortcuts than go with 02. Besides orange do 500 texts and 200 min a month for 30 quid with the phone for free. Bargain This message was posted from a T610

Bloomp - that's awful if Orange have removed the facility to know who the text message is from on screen! It was one of the major reasons that I chose SE over any other brand, the fact that they have this facility, you can see who the text message is from before you open it. And even better, the facility to have a photo of the person showing on screen too. I like this feature because if the phone is in the car holder, knowing who the message is from, I know whether or not to bother to pull over, stop and read it.

I can't understand why Orange would remove this. They left it on the T610 under their branded Orange phones.
