This is just daft!
i wish people would actually READ THE GUIDES before making stupid posts...
if you bothered to read my guide you would see that i was on vodafone from the UK so just use the same files that i specify in the guide.
Those files will work for ANY branded K700 in the UK.
There is also a doc that tells you about the files on the total multiserver download area.

it looks like the biggest problem is to find out how to set up a virtual com port so the people with SyncStations can take advantage of this marvel.
Has anybody got an idea? I went round every retail outlet in my home town that I thought might have a t28 data cable, no luck. If we can't sort it i'll have to order one online, where is the best place?

When you install the syncstation it gives itself a com port so you dont need to do anything else.
Look under PORTS in Device manager, if you setup your syncstation correctly then it should have an entry called
SEMC DSS Syncstation
If it isnt listed there then you must have an entry somewhere of a device that isnt installed properly
Its the total multiserver itself which has problems with the syncstation, they are working on it.

dr_sy is correct in one respect. The people/web sites who say it works with the DSS-25 must have created a virtual com port for it. I know it creates it's own com port but I am guessing the com port must have a UART interface which is where this program might come in useful:
http://www.virtual-serial-port.com/
Either they are using this to somehow create a serial port or by using an emulator such as WMware the device manager thinks the port is serial.
Maybe iamcrunchie can tell us how he rewired his data cable to become a T28 cable?

yeah I had seen that in the ports section, I had been using that COM port. I had heard that other people had managed it with the sync station so I thought I was doing something wrong. Is there any idea of when the sync station will be comatiable. I can buy a service cable off the net but that will take a couple of days anyway so is it worth the wait?

Am I right in thinking that this will sort out my flashing white screen problem (if I get hold of the T28 cable)?
i.e. Multiserver can repair and flash the phone?
My phone is locked to Orange and i'm looking forward to trying this out ....

Thanks for that Sy. I've ordered a T28 data cable from
www.fonefunshop.co.uk, but I have my DSS-20 waiting should the software update in the meantime.

I converted my T28 data(logo/ringtone )cable to service just by doing this..
http://www.esato.com/archive/t.php/t-17145
i didnt need to solder, i just eased the pins out and put them in the right place.
When i originally did it i used a better guide than that ^ which i cant find anymore but that should do

I have version 1.23 from link provided by Multiserver email when I bought credit. But whenever I press Info to update the program, the dialog window area keeps saying
"connecting to server…
error connecting to server!"
I have entered my username and pass correctly, and firewall is off...
Any ideas?
