Correct me if im wrong here, but my S700 can store 510 contacts, not numbers.
Each contact in the book can have up to 4 numbers, E-mail address, and info about said contact.
That adds up to 2040 possible numbers? OK still not as good as your Nokias 2500, but not as bad as you say, 510 numbers?
no you are totaly wrong

your S700 can store only pathetic 102 contacts if 5 number per contact are entered

but I gues with your 10 contacts and some sort of pay as go card you aren't limited with the addressbook of SE
btw. I own nokia 6230 which can in terms of SE store 5000 numbers compared to 510 of any SE (except for Pxxx series)
and no, I'm not from manila
2 knut: well, you got it right

I post here for my own amusement, because it makes fun looking at ppl like some of them here thinking that their phones are the best ones on the planet (maybe for them) but they somewhat suck compared to low end phones of the competition
and since I cannot upload/choose my own avater I stuck with the p910i because that is finaly phone from SE production that seems not to be crippled down
2 bug.bug: SE cannot copy Nokias path, it's too late for that, even Siemens, LG, Samsung jumped over SE, because SE couln't really decide what they are good at and they missed the boat ..
p.s. enjoy using overpriced low end phones like k700i & S700i

k500i the only one target the right way. btw t68 and t610 were the kings of the hill, but the time is gone ..

Im afriad I've gotta agree with aquila2 dere, SE did lose track, and I think other manufacturers have cashed in on possible designs and features that SE could have used. For example, the new Samsung D500, looks to be an absolutley awesum phone, my only problem is the lack of radio. That cold be why Im still looking at a K700.....

Hold you're horses there kiddo. If my memory serves me right, the contact management on Nokia phones share memory with the rest of the system. Which means, the max amount of contacts is only possible if that memory isnt used up by pictures/music/video.
Other than that, your 510 fields is correct, which roughly translates to 300 contacts for most people. The thing is, this isnt an issue, or else this forum would be swamped by people complaining. The only ones reacting to this, is the Nokia trolls who comes in here. But of course, you are probably so popular that you need your five thousand friends on your phone list, so I guess Nokia is for you then. GOOD FOR YOU.
On the note of the Nokia 6230. You are laughing at K700 owners when you have that overpiced phone? It's display is mediocre at best, it is far too small and low resolution, it takes abysmal pictures, and it's software is unstable at best(I know, I sell these things). The menu system is now so aged, that I'm beginning to wonder if Nokia cut back in the software development department. Compare that UI to the K700 in sheer usability and beauty 6230 is beaten hands down. But since I have a life, I'm not trolling in the Nokia forums about it.
Now stop trolling. You might find amusenet in it, but be assured that us normal folks find amusement in your apparent lack of grasp on reality.

I don't know why everyone is so in to the s700, the s710 isn't far off, to me it would be worth the wait as the s710 just seems that bit better and when that comes out guaranteed the s700 will plumet in price!

2 knut: the memory for contacts on the nokias is fixed which means, there is no inteference between the main memory and the contacts memory
btw I don't need to bu popular and have many friend to have many ppl in my addressbook, have you been thinking of a possibility that someone might use the phone for work ?
anyways, I admit that 6230 has got smaller display, with no so fancy graphics & UI. but some ppl somewhat don't care for UI, since they use their fones as work tools ..
well and the software is very stable

this is a biased view .. as I would tell that k700i is slow ... which is not true ..
2 dc:uk: S710 is for US market, it works on 850/1800/1900 MHz and doesn't have FM tuner ...

Well, I just named a few shortcomings with 6230, and judging by your logic, it's crap because of that. I mean, you just named a couple of problems with the K700, and concluded it was overpriced junk, why can't I do the same?
Trolling is not difficult, you do not have to be intelligent to do it either. To be honest, provoking people for your own enjoyment doesn't make you special or cool, it just underscores the fact that you have a serious problem.
