I don't think it's smart to preorder it @ mphone.co.uk. I think the price wil be lower than that. They say £650 Sim free. I say $650 when it comes.

I am also quite split on my decision for this. I am on the one hand, really really like the P800 as a phone. But as you say, we've just spent money on buying T68 and 3G phones are coming too early next year. I really don't know..

P800 is really an excellent phone.. oh.. this is driving me crazy

Hehe.. maybe P800 is targeted for business people, but they are not the only ones allowed to play with the latest tech-toys, right? P800 has so many features, and is a perfect phone+PDA combined!

Okay, if I buy P800 or not comes down to this one funtionality that I want. When P800 is released, if it has a powerful enough IR and proper software to make a remote-control for TV, stereo and DVD too then I will definitely buy it!! Btw, the new Ipaqs have improved IrDA and is released with bundles remote-control software.. Cool huh? Read more about them here (sorry, Swedish only): http://www.mobil.se/nyheter/visa.asp?id=5285&sid=1

That's a good point actually, 3G phones aren't far off, I think I'll save a bit of cash so I can get a nice one of those. But I do really like all the features of the P800.

3G... hmm. Well I think I'm going to wait a while before I make the leap to 3G.

What are the chances of it working as advertised as soon as it is implemented?
What are the charges going to be?
What is the coverage going to be like (hint, not very good)?
What will the roaming be like?

I'm sure once 3G gets going we will look back and wonder how we coped without it, but in the meantime, a nice toy like the P800 is going to keep me very happy.
My contract is up in October, so I'll go for a P800 then, and then maybe same time next year (2003) think about the 3G options.
