Oooops..anyway went to a Voda store here in Stockholm today and asked one of the guys working there about this caller id picture on external display issue...he say that it works perfectly on his v800...just do like this.of course it does not work on mine anyway...but I got a feeling the guy knew what he was talking about..so maybe there is a way to get it working anyway....could it be that you need to have the picture in the same size as the external display???
Cheers

did u actually see that theres a pic when tried calling his phone? or he juz showed you how its done? It cant be matching the size as the external pic, coz then u need 2 pic for one caller.. thats really unpractical.

But you have to wonder why companies have to do that, why can't they use manufacturores firmware and just include 3G options? That's what i hate about 3G, and the fact that video calls are completely pointless.

I'm sooo confused.

You hate 3g ebcause of branding (which is quite an unrelated occurence really) and you find video calls pointless so you're off to buy a...... vodafone V800?

And video calls do have a certain value to people like me, who have friends all over the globe but don;t get to see much of them. it's just that little extra you get from also seeing them instead of only hearing them.

@Vlamm

Indeed, the video calling feature does have a value. If the point of amobile phone is to allow communication then why not expand that capability to allow an extra form of communication.

Travelling a great deal I find such a feature useful for staying in touch with home.

yeah i spose it is good if you are away from people for a long period of time... but you wouldn't make day to day phone calls with it... well i wouldn't.

im getting a V800 cos its sexy (lol) and it has a 1.3MP camera, SE works with my Mac, but mostly cos i love the design!

@expansion,

If u have the time, u can go to france to get the unbranded V800 then. ( just the catch - voda firmware ). At least u wan V800 but dun have voda logo and the body...

3G ( or 4G in Japan ) is kinda normal life in Japan. We are in the warminng up section throughout the world on 3G. Maybe later u will find it is kinda convinent to u.. Depends how u look at it..

Just my 2 cents.. nothing much.. no rudes..

yeah i dunno.. i mean how cna you walk around while looking at a screen... just so much more convenient and versatile to hold it agains your ear. But as someone said it's good if for example you are away from family for a long time... anyway im waiting for a revised model... or at least until end of Jan
