I've written quite a few emails on the JasJar today and it really is a breeze typing on the keyboard. I'm so impressed by this device.

Is it bulkier than a 9500 ?

Nokia 9500 is 148 x 57 x 24 mm = 202464 mm cubed

JasJar is 81 x 127.7 x 25mm = 258592.5 mm cubed

Nokia 9500 is 222g

Jasjar is 285g

so I guess the answer is yes

however the 9500 display (for example) is 640 x 200 whereas the jam is 640 x 480 and terefore much more usable in my opinion
The Nokia also doesn't offer UMTS/3G although it does offer EDGE which the JasJar doesn't (not that I could use Edge anyway)

I can see how people would want to compare these though but owning the 9500 has never entered my head

Hmm....that does sound bulky enough for most pockets ... ( the 9500 was bulky enough) but I guess you're right on the usability of the Jas Jar being much higher than a 9500 .....Thanks

So now I have a dilema lol. Wait for your review on the K-Jam or snap up the Jas Jar you may be selling for half price? lol

my opinion keeps changing at the moment and hasn't settled down.

for example, unless you use a bluetooth headset its a little awkward using it as a phone and not as fast as using a standard phone and I've come to live with that but that makes me dislike it

then today I discover that the camera has a 2megapixel setting and well as 1 megapixel, vga etc. The specs on Expansys and imate sites both say its a 1.3 megapixel camera like the JAM before it but you'd think if that was the case then there would be a 1.3 megapixel setting and the 2 megapixel offering would be interpolated. But there is no 1.3 megapixel setting I took a few pics at 2 megapixel and they are heaps better than the JAM.

I also discovered (and I don't know how I missed it) but it also has a flash light much like what you get on the K700/K750/W800 etc, i.e. constantly on or off.

This makes me like it again.

So I am back to the dilema benig discussed in htc wizard or htc universal? and I think I really can't answer it until I have the k-jam in my hands next week

well its not final I will sell. I just found out yesterday that the k-jam now uses mini-SD compared the JAM using standard size SD cards, and I have 2 2gb SD cards which I can use in the JasJar.

I'm also a little worried about the performance of the k-jam given that they have changed the 416 mhz processor in the JAM to a 200mhz processor in the k-jam

I mentioned this yesterday in the htc wizard or htc universal? but no one has had any input there

also the k-jam is delayed until the end of the month and the features in the jasjar are making living with the size a little easier.

it still sucks battery having used it for a week now, down to around 20% at the end of each day. It also takes a couple of hours to recharge from that level. But then I do have it checking for emails every 15 mins and I do surf and do another stuff on it for 50 mins in the morning and same at night on the train as well as all the intra day activities with meetings etc.

its a very useful, and useable, device!

Seems like I am going to have to pay the full wack for it then - its not available with Orange unless I'm mistaken which is a pity.May have been able to get something of it lol.
