SanDisk has been out for a long time. they were one of the original manufacturers of CF, the first (wide spread) small form factor memory cards.
I have a 1gb MMC SanDisk in my phone, a nokia 6230 (my wife has the sony).
The comment about chinesevsjapanese is racist and stupid.
My SanDisk card is slow writing, compared to modern ones, however, it was also 20 euros at the local berlin tradeshow, Combaer. Saturn, a 'major' retailer (yech!) sells cards for 50, although they may be faster.
Some cards will fail, sony or sandisk or other brands, due to defects. Like a previous poster, thanks for letting us know SanDisk has a lifetime warranty!

@slewslew, THERES NOTHING RACIST IN COMPARING PRODUCT MAKES AND QUALITY FROM TWO DIFFERENT COUNTRIES. PLEASE BE OPEN MINDED, WHAT IS BEING DISCUSSED AND COMPARED HERE IS THE PERFORMANCE OF MEMORY CARDS, NOT PEOPLE FROM DIFFERENT COUNTRIES.

Yes. SanDisk up to 2GB available - Sony only up to 1GB.
SanDisk will ship 4GB to retail in May.

Both cards are made in China/Taiwan.
The design is US or Japan.
