HI
Phew!! what a topic! ive looked through of much of this thread as I could.
From the early topics it looked like flashing via the bluetooth was a no go but in the later posts seems like is now possible.
So can anyone help a COMPLETE novice out?
Im running a Mac OSX with Erisson Client v 1.0.0 by Jonans Sailing
I have a Bluetooth D-Link USB adaptor.
An Ericsson T68i running R2A014
im in the UK
On the Orange service provider
I think my phone is unlocked as I was originally on Vodafone and I dont think they lock theirs like Orange do as I can put any networks sim into it.

I can drag and drop files, themes, pictures, ring tones on to the phone no problem so is there a simple way of just "dropping" the new software into the phone??

Thanks

koshington-I think you really quite understood what has been said in this thread. There is only one way (well, actually 2) to flash the firmware of your phone...this is done only with a version T28 service cable, not any cable for the T68. The fact that you can drag and drop files such as themes and pics and such, to your phone is simply the client software using bluetooth as a virtual serial device to transfer to the phone. When flashing, you are actually changing the firmware code that "runs" the fone...a lower level change..Lastly, it is impossible to use bluetooth or ir or any other standard to flash the phone since the phone will have to be in the off state.

I hope this helps since it sounded to me like you were very confused by this thread. Good luck...since you are in UK, I believe that carphonewarehouse or if you are in London, any phone distrubutor on Tottenham Court Road could help...I know this because I have a flat not far from there and play around with all the electronics goodies when I'm there. Cheers

Not quite understanding your question, but if I think I know what you are asking, then no...phone is off, no lights no nothing.

AVR, I'm in southern cali, Inland Empire.. GPRS was down for two weeks and started working this past monday.

Did you tell cingular to enable "Wireless Internet Express" on your account (Wireless Internet won't give you GPRS, only the Express), you should also have the blue triangle thing.. You might want to double check with them and make sure it's provisioned correctly.

Here's the GPRS settings I use for CINGULAR

[CNGLR DATA - GPRS DATA ACCOUNT]
APN = ISP.CINGULAR
USERNAME = WIXDC001@W5.MYCINGULAR.COM
PASSWORD = ZXY203DC9K0402

[CNGLR WAP - GPRS DATA ACCOUNT]
APN = wap.cingular
USERNAME = WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
PASSWORD = CINGULAR1

[EXPRESS WAP PROFILE]
GATEWAY = 66.209.11.61
HOMEPAGE = http://device.home

tried it a few minutes ago browsing ESATO's logos and worked fine

funks..

Yep..exact same settings over here...and yes, I've had both Wap and Express activated for over 3 months now...maybe I didn't mention before but the thing did work..it worked for over two months...then one day, without any changes to fw or hw, it just gave up...I don't know...

You might want to call up cingular and makes sure they provisioned GPRS for your (when I changed my minutes, those people removed Internet Express from my account) and to double check. The BLUE TRIANGLE is lit right? If your account is provisioned correctly then it's most likely Cingular is doing some work on their GPRS in your area..

funks..another thing..you mangage to have an APN setting for Data also? This is strange since I only have it for the Express/GPRS data settings...Also, I notice that you have different settings for the APN for the two accounts..can you confirm that you actually have these two settings under Connect/Data Comm/Data Accts?

Thanks
