Hmmm.......now the only way out seems to be the mysterious "Coming Soon" in the "FLASH" folder, when u access ur fone with FAR......

Do you reckon when the FLASH option becomes available we will actually be able to get into the firmware at machine code (?) level ?

I really hope so as this would surely allow for a wider scope of customisation

Having said this though I get to upgrade in a month and intend on getting the K800i, but no doubt I will still want to mess about with the modding.

I've been using online translators to follow some of the russian websites - I saw it mentioned that by tweaking a byte, davinci would ignore the crc's and flash modified firmware anyway - I can't work out if this works only with a service cable or also with the standard usb thing.

There's another program floating around called dcu60.exe which appears to allow the user to converse in hex direct with the phone - it's non-trivial, but looks like it provides much the same function as SEFP, without the nice gui - I may well be wrong on all this (I can safely blame bablefish if that's the case)

Anyway, from the little I can gather, it appears this program provides a way to upload modified firmware, or at some level make modifications without the annoying checksum crud.

The alternative I guess is to hack the login requirement for more recent versions of davinci, though I'd imagine the writers of davinci would be none to happy about that. Worth looking in to I guess - need to scratch up on assembly though. (Or learn Russian)

i tried to reinstall my usb drivers and it is successful. the flash drive of w800 is mounted on the computer and also the SE software is also installed in the computer. but still, i cannot see "EPIUSB.sys." all drivers installed by SE has this naming convention: "w800*.*"

everytime i opened FAR and enter the matrix, when i pressed the "C" button, it just turned ON the phone and the flash drive mounted on the computer and also it ask me for the phone password.

i still cannot used FAR because it says that EPIUSB.sys is not installed. where can i get this driver?

could someone please answer me on how to see that pie chart of free sms?
and i downloaded a file here that has selected and unselected icons with the menu.nl, how do i use it? when i hit f5 says it saves the original menu but can't find it in my hard drive. sorry for the noob question but i really want to know. just done the unlimited sms memory but havent tested yet i only have 106 sms as of now. please reply to my post.

I have already connected to FAR without the EPIUSB.SYS error bt when I try to access the FS folder there is nothing there. What am I doing wrong.
