rog, or anyone that has the phone, in the stuff.tv review it makes note of a "slight rattling plastic back cover" is this much of an issue, does it make the phone feel less premium?

cheers

Even on the photo it look like it is about to fall off.

Other than the Camera, display res and design, its no better than say a Galaxy SII which was launched a whole year ago, yet still has faster HSPA+, A microSD slot, Better camera results, more powerful CPU/GPU despite being clocked down to 1.2GHz, superior display tech, better tailored UI for hardware allowing HD1080P in web browser and possibly faster performance (waiting to see some full on reviews on it, but the mere fact that it uses a Snapdragon CPU makes me believe performance wont be upto mark with GS2).

The more i look into this Xperia S the less excited i am, HTC and Samsung are going to bring some seriously powerful and finely tuned devices this year, Sony better bring their A-game with this, its just not convincing me right now.

What a bull..hit. But whatever.
If you seriously claim SGS II is a better device, I just lol mate.
Nothing more to add, whiners are everywhere.

People tend to forget even though last year the Arc/ Arc S were just single core devices they were better performing than all DUAL core CPU handsets from LG, HTC and others and almost came close to matching the Galaxy S2. So I do not think anyone should take it for granted that if there is a phone with a quad core CPU its necessarily going to perform better than the Xperia S in daily usage.

@doministry I think you seem to forget this is a forum where people have an opinion. Now I have already said many times I actually like the Xperia S and I love the specs etc. I have been just stating my opinion on what I can see on here that so far the PROMISED amazing camera performance has not quite been as good as expected. It does not seem to be a massive improvement from older Xperia devices. I might be proved wrong in final firmware who knows but I am just stating this. And I also stated in just ONE post that Huwawei aswell as others seem to be again ahead in terms of specs of Sony. I have an Xperia S and I am loving it. Yes I know no phone camera is gonna be perfect but this bump upto 12 megs with still no visible signs of MUCH of an improvement seems a shame. I find it for me disappointing about some features of concerns to me on why Sony does not always seem to improve on model after model. I still love them I just don't see the Xperia S as a massive improvement so far. Weather you like my opinion or not is tough not my problem I am not posting in here EVERY five minutes slagging it off. I have said at times I quite like it. And I also say again I have concerns too that this model will have build issues too as with previous models with a reviewer stating they had a wobbly battery cover. Same old Sony I hope not with poor build. And another thing I am concerned about is will the battery hold up powering dual core with a massive HD screen at a mere 1,750mAh or there abouts?? When the likes of Motorola power a slim device with a 3,330mAh battery. Sorry it's just my views. And no I ain't joining no Huawei forum.

I would agree with this, I prefer my arc over the S2 but my point is how much of an overstatement it is when doministry says, "Xperia S will be the class of it's own for a long time." when like others have pointed out, this is the device which is making S(E) catch up with the current competition, yes it may put it in a lead but that lead will be short lived. People looking to buy the latest tech phone will want the latest thing. It doesn't matter if actually isn't much better then the norm. It was the same in the mega pixel race, everyone wanted 8MP but no normal user realised that just because its 8MP doesn't make it the best. And it was the same last year, people could choose between the arc and the S2. One was good, but it wasn't dualcore and that's why the S2 was a flying success because it had a nippy advertisement selling the dualcore and people thought that this is what is best.

So it will be the same this year, you will have people looking at the Xperia S and the GS3 and they will go "I will go for the GS3 because I hear its quadcore and that's the best". But as I have already said, Sony will release a quadcore device later on in the year and the Xperia S is reasonably priced (last year the arc and S2 where similarly priced) so hopefully Sony will still be in the running.

Don't get me wrong I love Sony (Ericsson) I am an arc owner, but I am also objective and can look at something at a distance. Unlike the serious fan boys here who cannot allow anyone to have an opinion that god forbid it isn't a positive comment about our beloved SE. Seriously get a life, you might not agree but forgod sake respect others' opinions!

Xperia S will be class of it's own because it will mix great camera, great performance and great design.
If some of you just don't see the photo quality difference between Arc and S, than
I'm sorry for you. The difference is clear.

But from the other hand, what do you really expect? What kind of unreasonable camera quality boost you're expecting??!!
The competition is already stiff and between all those top smartphones you can't find one
Which is in complete different league. Because they already use most of what's available on such
Comparatively laughable photo hardware.

So just wait for tests or compare yourself in real life.
Whining here over something you haven't even touched - that's childish.
