You can get the Z3 compact for £289.99 from o2 by signing up to a refresh tariff
It's a £10 handset agreement ± £49.99 upfront and you can clear the handset balance the next day terminating the contract as well
It appears to be £290 on pay-and-go. I guess there are no ties to keep you on O2 ? Do they have to unlock your phone if you request it (assuming they are locked to O2) ? Anyway, that's much cheaper than everywhere else at the moment (e.g. £360 on giffgaf), Speculating, but I guess other sites will eventually follow suit, and it means something new will be along soon-ish ?

O2 do lock their own phones, however they will unlock it for you. It's free at anytime if you're on a monthly plan and £15 on PAYG once you've had the device for 3 months or more

@xperiazultra
I know how you feel brah. Believe me the Note 5 won't make you happy. Stay with the Ultra and let's hope Sony will bring a superb successor soon. The Ultra is also my daily driver for a long time now. There is no other device what can make me more happy. Had almost all latest flagship phones, but all disqualified. Can't leave the Ultra... this beautiful baby is holy for me.

Ah OK, thanks for the info, ~£300 for a Z3 Compact is (currently) a good deal. Waiting until March might make things better. I know most here are all about the top-end devices, but I wish they'd make something mid-range (above E-series) and small. Closest currently is the last-gen Compact I guess.

No flagships at MWC. Bold move. I guess they want to sell the mobile division afterall
Sony is not going after market share and is trying to stabilize the mobile division. The goal is to produce devices which will generate profits even if the sales volumes are not very high.

I feel helpless
)). They released the Ultra and it's one hell of a phone. Now it's discontinued. Sony should give it a chance.

Z4 will be announced at MWC but the release will be late May.
The real flagship is Z5 which will be announced in Sep.

^sounds weird. Over 2 month from announcement to release (late may) and after 3 month (september) another announcement? Can't believe it's true.

I think they will release Z4 in may and Z4 Ultra and Compact in september. We might see a tablet in MWC.
