Did you unlock it through vodafone? Or did you go someplace else?

AFAIK those settings are not affected by simply unlocking the phone, that means that it remains locked to Vodafones services/settings, or in some cases you can add other (operators) settings but canīt get rid of Vodafoneīs..
I have seen several ex-Voda-phones not being able to choose startpage and other irritating side effects. Only thing helped for me at least (that was a Z600) was flashing FW AND GDFS and thatīs gonna be a challenge on the V800 since the Vodafone fw seems to be the generic one. Unless SE already have generic fw just waiting for Voda to release their stranglehold.

Anyone using bluetooth with your computer for sync, etc ?
I do and have issues with Phone Monitor which once it was connected always trues again and again to connect with the phone even if no software requires the connection which should be the correct behaviour ; i made a few tests, it's a phone monitor bug not a v800 bluetooth issue...hopefully this will be adressed soon, it's a real nitghmare for now, the bug only appears using bluetooth, phone monitor wants to "keep alive" the bt connection for no reason...
Also you may be interested in alternatives for sync :
- Xntdconnect which is bundled in SE communication suite delivered with older models, can totally manage your sync but as u'll gain some features (filters, mapping, etc...) you'll lose some (not all outlook fields are synced, memo don't seem to be either, etc..)
- If u have a bluetooth device using the widcomm stack to operate, you can use the built in "Obex sync server" profile to sync your phone, that's working great but u still win some and lose some...
- I haven't given FMA a try since the v800 but it should also be interesting.
These can be used with any connectivity (bt, usb, serial, etc...), Widcomm stack and Fma methods don't require Phone Monitor to connect to the phone, whereas SE soft unfortunately do
I also noticed most software are more recent on SE site than on the bundled CD ; after comparing software version, i'd say some are only little updates but there are also really new versions available (software are still the same, but i noticed some bugs disappeared in the connectivy manager for instance)
Updates i've noticed (u can install them over old version and don't lose any setting)
- Connectivity Manager
- Sound editor
- File manager
- mms studio
- image editor

What setting should I have?

From what i saw it's not MS related at all nor any popular protocols...
I registered using the bookmarks menu of the phone, had a direct link, then i strived to download the pc client which is locally branded, but i've never been able to use it on the phone, as i never could download the java program from the website...seem to be required as vodafone live pages only allow me to manage this service no to use it
I also tried to register and use the client for pc to 3G videocalls but never could as the website is totally broken and link don't lead anywhere...

to all V800 owners..... I dont own a V800 yet, but i think V800 is missing a feature that is included in the Z600 (or any other SE previous phones if they hv this feature) While taking a picture, we can adjust the brightness using the directional UP-Down button... same for V800 and also include the volume button to adjust brightness while phone is closed...
However the Z600 can adjust the CONTRAST/COLOUR by pressing the Left-Right directional button.. but using the V800 Left-Right switch to Picture-Video... so i believe V800 is missing this feature.. correct me if im wrong...
