Hi! I'm new here and have read all the posts already. One of the members posted the issue about having difficulty adding contact names and adding names to groups. No one has replyed to the problem and was wondering if anyone has found a solution aside from flashing the firmware. I have basically the same issue as his.

1) When I try to add certain contacts to the message groups it replaces the selected contact in the group with another one. I noticed it happens only with certain names and the name the phone replaces it with is ususally the same one, even if I recreate the contact. for example, if I create a contact named Bill and add it to a group, the phone will replace it with Sandra. When I try adding a differnt contact name, like Kelly, it allows me to. But when I try to put Bill in the group again, the phone replaces it with Sandra again. I can't find any rhyhm or reason to the problem.

2) Certain contact will not show the picture I have assigned to them, even pics I have taken with the camera, although it was taken with the same settings as the other contacts I have created using the same camera settings.

3) Is there any news about adding the option of using custom tones for SMS in upcoming firmware updates?

3a)How about control over the shutter speed? I noticed that some photo shutter speeds vary even using the same exact same settings on the camera.

4) The video recording I make using the phone are very blocky and looks bad compared to other older phone models? Is anyone having the same issue? Is this fixed in any of the current fw updates?

I would really appreciate any info that can be provided.

Not sure about your questions a dont have an S700i, but you are running really old firmware. So definatly worth updating it

Hi. I have an S700i version R3M008. Would someone with the same software be so kind as to see of they have the following menu on their phone: Goto Settings|Calls|Time and costs. The Time and Costs menu is missing on my handset, however it is showing on my wife's handset which has software version R3K. Orange have resent all my SIM updates which have made no difference. I have also tried reflashing via SEUS and a Master Reset all to no avail. Thanks.

I have an S700 version R3M too and under calls,settings, I have option Time and cost.

You can easy try with sim card from your wife.

Thanks for that. I just swapped the SIM cards and my wife's phone with my SIM card correctly shows thr Time and Costs menu. My phone with her SIM does does not show the menu! It appears to be a handset specific problem.

3gp video is blocky by nature as it compresses the video and records in a general low quality anyway. I doubt its a problem, you might just expect too much!

As for custom sms tones, I would be very surprised if this was implemented in a firmware update because, although possible, SE never make big changes to a firmware, usually just save them for future phones.

1-2. Update firmware to the latest one and make master-reset. Looks like it's connected to old bug with phonebook (caller id shows only the incoming number not the name even the name is in the book. It can be cured by making a backup of the book on PC, deleting the book and sim-contacts and restoring the book from the backup).
3. IMHO it will never happen officially. Use unofficial services like setool, davinci, tms etc to set custom sms sounds.
3a. Play with EV (volume up/down keys) and whitebalance settings
4. It was always blocky when shooting moving objects. New firmware doesn't help

Is it tied to a network as they may have removed this option from the menu. Orange are famous for this removal.

I also change the CDA with Davinci and update to R3M008 with SEUS.

The menu doesn't appear for me.
