Nitel is on strike because govt is owing them 4 months salary,
I disagree. NITEL staff are on strike because NITEL as an organisation is a monumental failure, generating little or nothing and so unable to pay staff salaries anymore. And all this is while other telecoms firms that are much younger and having far less resources are smiling to the bank everyday. I am happy that government has refused to give them any more funds.
Actually, in my opinion, NITEL should be sold at the most convenient cost to any willing buyer. Who wants to buy a liability at the figures the government keeps asking for?

Let me get this straight, Nitel staff want to be paid from monies they have failed to generate? I'm sorry for NITEL customers, this may turn out to be one long strike.

Yes, try to unlock it.
@AYA, and Amby... The Government has decided to bail out Nitel by paying some of the money it's agencies owe it. I also read that Nitel's debts would be bought over by the FGN b4 its sale.
