My phone switches itself off several times a day now, I also get random reboots , for those who have had BROD, did you get both restarts and phone just switching off before the BROD happened ??

Meiso

If your phone is recognized by your pc when you plug it in with the cable then its all you need.No extra drivers are needed.

Thanks! I was just worried that I might need the Davinci drivers to flash my phone, as opposed to the drivers windows installed, which allow me to transfer files, download photos from the phone etc..

Cheers.

its written on the first page that it is possible to update the firmware to (CDA102511/69) - R1DA039 ...however whenever i try to run it on my k850i which is R1CA029...it keeps telling me that the phone is up to date. Have they removed this update from SEUS?

Has anybody else experienced the same problem? Or if anyone has some suggestion on how i can update..it would be greatly appreciated!

kewsvnet, ur on 3 are you not? cause im having the same...well wouldnt call it a problem, i think its just that a 3 uk branded version of any firmare above r1ca029 exists yet....hopefully soon though : |
as for how to update it, maybe you could use davinci or similar service to flash to a hutch-world firmware or something until the real one for you comes out, if you dont want to lose the services etc

At everybody who is getting random reboots and BRODs.
I have looked around other places and if you want to avoid both things what you have to do is:
-Try not to minimize applications and start using the phone as normal, it strains the processor and eventually causes a reboot or shutdown
-Everyday, turn off your phone, take out the battery, and start it up again (not when plugged in) This refreshes all components in the phone and starts it up agian with cleared ram and processor
-Do not plug in your phone to charge when the phone is off, there have been reports of people coming to BRODs
-Install themes to phone, there have been reports of people getting BRODs by installing themes to the memory card.
-Start-up, use a start up component that will come before the start-up picture. This allows the phone to sort everything out before you start using it. Some who have already done this will notice a short delay between the insert password poping up and actually being able to enter text, this is what i'm talking about
-Don't use the phone when the media library is UPDATING. It uses alot processing power and your nearly certain to get restart when this is happening

If any one else has anything else they could add, be my guest and go straight on...

so to make a long story short, use the phone like it was a retarded piece of sh#t, because if you "stress" it, it will brick on you... great!

First part is True and for the second part, devine normal.

False, the phone is clear when your time & date settings are reset. Unless you meant a 24h battery takeout.

I think its False but im not sure, I will try this for a week.

False, the phone will not give you a BROD if its on a card. If "someting" happens the phone will restart and reset the theme to Crystal.

You mean the flight mode option?

If you had a BROD you should sell the it! the phone can't handle the freaky things your doing to it.

If you are getting BROD you have 2 solutions:
-Revert to 037 via kulankendi or davinci
-Let your mobile shop give you another one hopefully with 037

Why 037? because it's the only FW for K850 that doesn't BROD your phone,as simple as that...

Haven't had any problems with minimizing apps. As a matter of fact, at one point I started all the apps the phone allowed me to until it said not enough memory. No crashes or restarts occurred during or after my experiment.

#2
That actually works. I used remove my battery every night and my restarts decreased.

#3
There have been reports of this, but that does not mean it will happen to everyone. But if it's a know, specific trigger, it should be avoided. How is that bull? Why play the odds?

#4
Thats a bug in 31, not a precursor to BROD.

#5
Don't know what you mean either.

#6
Don't know, can't comment if this will cause BROD.

#7
That's a very subjective statement. Most people get BROD with regular use. We do not know what exactly triggers it. Keep in mind, this is only a 31 issue, no cases of BROD have been reported with any of the previous FWs. So in reality, its not the phone, its the software.
