@adammacleod sounds like you caught a case of BROD. When you turn on your phone look at the lens on the back and see if it lights up blue. If it does, then you have BROD.

@1889 A few have reported this but it has been mostly attributed to faulty hardware, not software. Also, when I went to the beach and it overheated, my phone's touch keys went haywire. They were activating them selfs and not working when I touched them. After it cooled down, the phone seems fine.

It looks like its when I press ANY button it activates the middle touch key, the actual middle touch key though doesn't work at all. My phone hasn't been anywhere though to get hot, wet, anything. It was perfectly fine half an hour ago and now it isn't. It just went funny whilst I was typing a text and now I can find if its sent it. Its also activated RSS Feeds which I don't want. I've got the ticker going round constantly and the RSS logo on the top of my screen.

Is my phone screwed? Shall I just ring O2 tomorrow and get a replacement? I just hope everything I want is on my memory card.

I'll ring them tomorrow. I've had insurance with them for 4 years and never made one claim so I hope they're not funny about it.

I've got to use a Sony Ericsson J100 now

I don't see that much of new pages on this thread anymore. Is it just me or am I starting to think some of you/many of you are giving up on expecting new firmware to come out anytime soon?

@reAaa
Dont think for one second that not because the threads have slow down means that people are not reading still ..its just what more can they say i think every body have experiance the same or different bugs one way or another and have already post it..its just that they are waiting for the firmware to be release ...SE difinitly have to be working very hard to fix this because every forum on the net that say k850i as little as it may be the problem exist, so it just to wait for this FW and i pray that they dont let april run out with out rectifying this BROD and other improvements here and there.

Hi... I'm new so if I cover old ground, please forgive me.

I have a couple of faults that I would like information on:-

First, I have now three times had to re-start my phone because of When trying to make a call, there is no sound coming through the handset unless I select loud-speaker. Then when I transfer it back, silence again. This has happened also on incoming calls but corrects itself once re-booted.

The only similarity in circumstance may have been that it had been connected to my car through Blue-tooth. Normally, the Blue-tooth connects and disconnects in my car ok. Once re-started, the phone is ok. Had the phone almost Five weeks and this is the 3rd time I have had to re-start to reset.

I am on Generic R1EA031. I have read that people recommend downgrading firmware to R1CA037 but when I looked on Davinci I couldn't see a Western Europe version to flash. Any ideas which one specifically until a new firmware is released?

For info, mine also randomly turns off and has re-booted on its own before.

Anyone know if / when next firmware is due to be released ?

Had my phone switched off overnight, tried it again this morning and its just got worse. The middle button is acting as though its permanantly stuck down now which makes completely impossible to use.

Rang O2 and they haven't got any stock of the phone until tomorrow morning so that means I've got to use the horrible J100 all weekend

This is the first fault I've ever had with my K850 btw, no reboots or anything in all the time I've had it.

guys, all i can say is that R1EA031 works super good.

all you guys who are concerned about BROD, go to your local work shop and DPY flash (they use EMMA-server) your phone to latest, i and some other people who did that have NOT have one single restart or BROD.

R1EA031 is the best firmware out there, no doubt about that
