Nice moonshot marls. Incidently there is a lunar eclipse in a day or two.

@mat3k - thanks mate

If somethink catches my eye I may take several shots of it, maybe compose some of the pictures differently and then pick the ones I like.

I will alter the brightness or contrast if i think it needs it, but it's minimal. I use the white balance setting most of the time and find this to help produce better results for me without having to mess too much with the picture afterwards. I also try and use the natural light to my advantage. In the case of the two pictures I have posted above and the last sunset on the previous page I didn't have to mess with the brightness or contrast.

I also like to mess around using a photo package from time to time and get some great effects and also use noiseware occaisonally. The camera has great potential mate, don't let anyone tell you should shouldn't make the best of the pictures you take ! Enjoy, from the pictures I have seen you post you obviously do enjoy it

@REO - the process is called thatching and it's usually made from vegetative materials such as Reed, Straw or Sedge.

@ryanmachin, thanks for the comments, and yes, the flower macro shot was not exactly my best effort...

@marlonski, Great shots, Hampshire really can be quite picturesque. I really like the contrast between light and dark in some of your shots, very good definition and composition.

Anyway, here are a couple taken in the past couple of days:

Thought this was quite fun:

Piece of useless trivia: The building to the left of the building with the curvy orange bits in the centre, was the building used as a 'City Penthouse' in "A Fish Called Wanda" where John Cleese was dangled out of a window.

Another piece of useless trivia: This inlet off the Thames was used during the motorboat chase in the beginning of The World is Not Enough (James Bond). In the film they edit it to appear as though it is a connecting waterway, in reality it's a dead end. Oh, and in the real world, Terence Conran lives in the top of the white building on the right of the picture.

Nice blue sky framing the facade of St. Pauls Cathedral

And another...

Didn't quite get this panorama lined up properly, but thought I'd post it anyway
