My phone locks up sometimes even without doing that. Might have to do with when I lose total reception of the phone... one time the phone had a flashing white screen in my pocket, and the other... the phone locked up in standby mode... I could only see the wallpaper, time, etc.

Another bug:

- When you set an alarm, the time it is due to go off is displayed in the bottom-left of the front screen, above where it says 'calls'.

- When you finish making or receiving a call, the alarm time is replaced by the call-time counter, and the alarm time moves to the bottom-right of the screen, above the date. When the call-time counter disappears after a few seconds, the alarm time re-appears again. You are then left with the alarm time displayed twice, both bottom left and bottom right above the time.

- If the screen goes onto a screensaver, or into and back out of the main menu, the bottom right alarm time disappears and things go back to normal.

Do you really believe that? Really? The SE developers are going to fix the most important bugs, make sure that the release is stable and then move on. The problems or bugs are not major but some people tend to make them out to be the end of all mobile telephony. Then comes the wonderful people who will complain about the fix. Why didn't SE do this, or why didn't SE do that?

Let the whining begin.

Reporting a bug in the firmware is not exactly the same as whining and weeping about it. The bug report is a documentation about a found bug, if someone else should experience a similar problem, then he/she knows that it's not his/her own particular phone that's faulty but the firmware, and that at least there's a hope for a fix in a future firmware release. Having the bug reported makes it more likely for the bug to be fixed than if it is not, and hopefully, people from 's firmware development department reads this forum as well.

I think the setup of this forum should be like this:

new topic: I found a bug, I did this and that and then this happened, etc. description

answers to that topic can be either one of:
a) I found that bug too
b) That bug is not in my phone(, and I have the same fw release)
c) This is a workaround
d) In this firmware release it has been fixed / does not exist

etc.

If your phone will not turn on anymore, it is probably not related to the software or will be fixed via a software upgrade. It appears that your phone is broken and you need a new one.

@sapporobaby

I hope so cuz my joystick didn't work perfectly either. And a new phone is always better than a repaired one.

@mokkawokka, I would like to ratify your bug with the alarm time being noted twice on the main display. At first I thought this might have been when more than one alarm is set, but it just repeats the one alarm time for some reason.

Good spot!

Email from SE:
This might interest you chaps. Upon contacting Sony Ericson about poor K800 media player quality (highly compressed sound, poor bass response etc, was what I noted), they provided me with this answer:

Quote:
Dear Jason,

Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Call Center.

Our Head Office is currently looking into this problem. However, we cannot advise at this point when the fix will be implemented. Please try using the Sony Ericsson Update Service in about 3-4 weeks as a fix may available at that time.

Best Regards,

Sony Ericsson Call Center

Hmm...
