what are the buttons on this handset like for texting. Had a look in the shop yesterday and they seem very small/close together but maybe this is cos i wasn't used to it. Also didn't seem too satisfying to press/hard to tell if you had pressed it, or was this just because it was a worn display model?
Im interested to know as im thinking abou getting this handset instead of waiting for the w760, but i want a phone which is easy to text with. Thanks

I find it really easy to txt with, much preferred to the w880i buttons.

@ashby: Did you see a dummy or a real one? Before you buy it, ask to see a real, new one and have a good go on it to get a feel for it. Most shops should allow you to do this because they want your money don't they?! After all, it really does come down to your personal opinion and what you're used to.

no it was a real one just had been on display so figured the buttons might feel a bit worn.

I'm torn between this and waiting for w760, but I'm on Orange and feel that they will not get W760 as one of their upgrade options, whereas this is available and seems like the next best SE MP3 useful handset. Have had both w910 and k850 for about a week each and neither were my cup of tea in terms of feel/design and reliability. Don't know why im stuck on SE, but love the UI and my w850 is a great handset.

perhaps the buttons didn't suit me as I am a long time w850 user and love the buttons on that0. w890 buttons seemed ok, but just a little small- im sure its something users get used to. My only concern is speed of using the buttons. I send a lot of texts...- people have any predicaments with texting fast with that tiny keyboard?

Also, another general question about getting a new phone. Would there be a way to transfer my T9 dictionary from my old w850 to a new SE A200 handset?

Well I guess that the shop model you tried was likely the way its supposed to be because the phone is only a few weeks old, so it can't be that worn yet! So if you don't really like it, I'd say wait for the W760i. But then it depends on what you didn't like about the W910i as they should be fairly similar!

As far as I know theres no way to transfer T9 dictionaries. I guess you'll have a bit of a project when you get your new phone!

Had the W890i for a while now.

Has anybody else noticed how slow the phone gets when bluetooth is connected?

I have the HBH-DS970 bluetooth headset and use it everyday to listen to music on the tube. When I try to use the phone whilst the headset is connected it's very slow to use. Menu's are slow to navigate and don't bother trying to use a java app. Even navigating the walkman screen is slow.

Other than that, great phone!

@Classicguy

just wondering how stable is the fw?

i'm using a k850 and am thinking of buying w890, fed up of slow interface and bad camera pics, plus the latest k850 seems to give 90% of users a brick in return

user interface is the same as k850/w910 in terms of speed...

i had a couple of each of the above phones. i didnt have any software issues which many people are having here. Only issue i had was lagging when in the media app....

W890i is the same. Lags a couple seconds in media app whilst browsing/loading! Other than that, rest is stable.....
