You don't believe it's a carbon fibre for 6$ do you? 😀

No, no! Of course i know it's TPU !
I have one with my Axon 7 and it's very protective! With XZ Premium it looks a lot better!
That's why i'll buy it!

You can choose the model by message.
You'll need to tell the seller which model you have.
But i just switched to a Illumishield for curved edges!
I'll receive it with three or four weeks. Right on time when XZP will be available here!

Oh my God! I am so jealous! *Drooooooool*

XJ.. give us your impressions! The case looks great. Glad I got one. And if you'd be so kind as to take pics of standard geometric patterns to clear up the distortion bullshit that'd be awesome.

Man .. I'm so jealous. 5-6 more days for me 😞

@musa - think of it this way.. how is it possible to magically create a pixel where there isn't one? Things can be upscaled when they are lower resolution to a higher resolution and pixels can be added through analysis and extrapolation. That's how the x-reality engine works actually. But the additional pixels physically exist on the display panel. It's just a matter of making them display the correct color to make us see sharper details in images. There is no way to create a physical pixel on a display through software, which is what they're claiming if I understand you correctly. They're there or they aren't.

To be honest, I consider this "analysis" as nothing but a black propaganda against Sony. First off, there is no television that is for sale right now that has true 4k resolution (as in 4,096 by 2,160) or will ever be. This resolution is only a standard for production and digital projection of 4K content set by DCI (Digital Cinema Initiatives). What the TVs and the 4K content that is being broadcasted is actually 4K UHD or 3,840 by 2,160.

About the claim that XZ Premium screen does not get close to 800 ppi, you really have to have deeper understanding on how Sony designed the screen work. And plus, ~50 less pixels per inch is not far off from 800 ppi and does not make it any less of a 4K UHD. And that's why they said up to 800 ppi.

@moogoo I'm over the moon with it, very premium feel to device and it feels very fast indeed. I'm in the middle of moving house so won't have a lot of time to put it through its paces unfortunately but I'll see if I can snap that photo you asked for.

Concerning the lens distortion issue, my assumption is that it might be just a small bad batch. Honestly, it's not uncommon, as I had that problem with my Z1. Had to send it back to clove to exchange for a new one. In my opinion, it's definitely a good idea to check. Just snap some pictures of them testing charts, and look for any curves on straight lines.

Honestly, I'm still on the fence on placing my order in with Clove right now. Personally, might take the wait and see this time around. Though, my S8+ is pissing me off, can't wait until I get rid of it.

I just got notice that Clove has shipped my XZP!

Scheduled to arrive on MONDAY! I AM SO EXCITED it's not even funny.

XJ - Totally understand! Take your time. No big deal if you can't do it. Good luck on the move! Hope it all goes smoothly. Enjoy your XZP and make sure you take care of it during that move!

Musa - like rss_ndrsn said, i think it's just a propaganda. I also think the seemingly "widespread" camera distortion issue is propaganda as well. Yes, there is always a possibility of having a bad batch of phones and as a consumer, you should always check for the specs and features you've been sold, just to protect yourself. Like I said before, I don't think it's a software issue because anyone and everyone with an XZP on the same software would experience that issue and as far as we know, it seems limited to china/asia. Thinking about it some more, it doesn't seem like a hardware issue either because the distortion occurs in different areas of the frame, even in photos shot at the same angle with the same lighting. If it were hardware, like a poorly made lens, the distortion should occur at the same exact area of the frame in every photo you take. Kind of like a dust speck on the lens that always shows up in the same spot. I'll check my XZP when i get it, but i really think this is bullshit and GLAD you are getting one!

Maratonmannen - you're getting an XZ5? YOU'RE FROM THE FUTURE!!!!?!?!? The case XJ has is the Roxfit Clear Shell found here: https://www.roxfit.mobi/produ[....]urban-anti-scratch-clear-shell

MNX - no doubt it could happen, but personally, I think it is very unlikely a widespread issue like those blog posts are suggesting. Why is your S8+ pissing you off? Just sell it, get an XZP, and be happy .
