HI guys just new to this thread, if i may interrupt im...i just would like to know...what can you say about guns that are more cheaper than the popular brands are they worth the investment especially for those who have a tight budget? just thinkin what performance can we get with these guns? Like the one i saw in the gunshow for 10k you get a 1911 45cal from ARMS? do you have any idea or reviews of this? how about norcs and armscor ? Thanks

THANKS BOYSAINT! ARMS from SHOOTERS i saw a 1911 cal.45 for only 10k... i think these guns are made in cagayan de oro. Is this ok for carry?home defense? or how about if i changed my mind and plan to use it for practical shooting? how about armscor vs norinco? Are there any cheap brands you can suggest that has a good feedback.THANKS!

Welcome to the Gun Afficionado's thread RGV250! I am a newbie myself...so I guess I could not offer much help with regards to your querry.

I haven't heard anything about the ARMS/Shooters line of FAs.

On the other hand, many people recommended Armscor guns to me before I finally picked my 9mm Taurus 24/7 Pro. They say its a good basic gun to begin with...and since it's a 1911, you can upgrade parts at your own pace. When you buy this gun, you also help the local gun industry and the workers that Armscor employs. Sadly, the gun is too big for my small hands.

On Norinco...well, I have also heard a lot of good things about this gun in the different forums. The Yanks are drooling over it (1911 line) but are having great difficulty in acquiring one because said brand (made in China) is banned in North America. I also read somewhere that Norinco's pistol barrels are tough to crack...reportedly one of the best in the entire lot of pistols in the whole world. Last Sunday, I and two shooting buddies were chatting with a Range Officer at Armscor-Marikina. When the topic shifted to Armscor and Norinco guns...he said, between the two, he would pick the Norinco. "Matibay daw."

RGV250,
ok, so... you'll get your own unit now? and a 1911, i presume? this may be off-topic about gun performance, but may i remind you that there will be a Comelec GunBan starting January-15 next year. i'm not sure but moving your new unit from store to home during GunBan may involve more papers and permit fees. i'm not sure tho'. so i think it would be better to get a unit now, have it come out to you till early week of next year, and be able to test-fire it before the six-month ban begins. if the release reach the ban days tho'.... you just wait till july to be able to shoot outside residence, no problem.

anyone here at the forum know or have experienced having a unit released during gun ban days? how do we go about it, fellows?
