Apart from gprs classes a lot also depends on the phone and how it handles the connection etc....between the t610 and k5/k7 etc there is hardly any noticeable difference when browsing wapsites but strangely during downloads the k5/k7 blaze ahead while the t610 chugs behind...dont have any explaination for this queer observation.

wouldnt the phones 'processor' matter? maybe that would be the answer for the sped diff. and oh, the memory available to handle

Dont think the processor would play a big part but dont quote me on that. My guesses would be memory,cache etc as well but dont think they alone can attribute to the HUGE difference i observed. I mean on the same connection...same time(general day time with slow gprs)...the t610 times out trying to dl a 100kb java game while the k7 has no problems getting a 1mb mp3...strange!?!

i connect to net on desktop via a P910 via bluetooth: net speed is 8.2KBps ( now
)
will try to connect via IR later so that I can give u a practical test result
