I've had a C905 for the past five days. It is a 09W07 model and I have to admit that there are obvious hardware improvements over the two earlier 2008 models that I had owned. The slider is still slightly wobbly but it is extra smooth-sliding and it doesn't scratch the keypad. The keys now are stiff, with a very positive (and audible) click. The software is OK with R1DA032 but it's still somewhat laggy with a Sandisk 4GB Ultra memory card. The initial ultra-soft photos now appear to have been sharpened a bit and we all know that this is one of the best cameraphones out there.

What still appears to be ridiculuous and contributing to SE's financial failure is the price. I see no reason whatsoever why anyone wouldn't prefer a Renoir, bundled with a 8GB card, for 80-90 euros less. They even sell the C902 for around 300 euros when the superb N82 is around 320. This is why Nokia has 40 percent of the world market and the morons at SE have managed to slip to EIGHT percent!

It is very loud, but I currently don't have a K850 to compare it with. It's much louder than C702 though.

Yeah, they are both quite loud but I was surprised at the loudness and clearness of the C905s speaker - I have both and the C905 is clearly louder.

Do you guys mean the earpiece or the speaker for playing music through? Is call quality decent?

The speaker, about the earpiece it can get muffled at times when in a noisy surrounding, but not to the point that you can't make out what the other party is saying.

I have just had a friends 09W10 black C905 here and it was solid. It was direct from Orange UK but had none of the silly overbranding that my one had - have they changed their branding policy?

Haha, you probably got one of the ones I sent back unbranded but had its hardware fixed!

Who knows.

Unbranding is essential, would save Orange and others loads of money wasting their time branding the SE firmware if they would just leave the bloody thing alone.
