this phone is HIGH end phone. It requires a HIGH end user. it's not your everyday user that you can just hand over the phone and expect he or she to use it. the phone needs tweaking. You have to fiddle with it. And most of all, YOU need to know what you are doing with the settings and what are those settings. it requires you to read a 100 plus pages manual. duh.
some got it for this reason only. to show off. some got it for business. the phone is "moddy". one needs to learn how to treat it. it's like a woman, no
offense to anyone here. ::-):

if one masters all these, there is going to be harmony between one and his P990i "toy".

thank you guys to remind me that there should be balance on my posting and apologize for that I know it'e better face the truth and try to solve the problem then to complaining all the time. I would be glad to join your side as a happy user like some of you now. i think maybe there is a big difference between generic world and singapore ver. which i have now. maybe some of you wanna share your experience and let us know to realize... as i face now is more bug than yours, one thing that keep me hold the phone till now is not loosing hope that next fw will make this phone to work as it should be...

Working in FOff, the DEL key doesnt operate as back key when in a menu. Somebody tell me theres a back key on the keyboard as well?

Also, is the only way to dial a phone number by opening the phone app? In standby, the 1-0 keys do not do anything.

P990 user for oer 20 days now ...not a single problem as to with which i will stop other people from buying it ..
these minor issues ..are nothing but initial scares ..will get ok with f/w upgrade ..
i will recommend it to everyone who wants to buy that ..u can buy it ..no problems ..
everything is ok ..the phones is as sexy as hell..u just have to be a pro user
an avg joe user would never be able to use it properly ...

I think iv been very lucky, i have got a Voda unlocked p990i running latest firmware and iv not had a single problem with it. only had it 3 days but still.... most people are making out its unusable, mines great. picks up router and WiFi straight away, got agile messenger running fine. got a few games. im loving it!
