Just got out of a lingerie fashion show at the Nokia Town Fashion Week. The panties were nice but the black models were disappointing, they were so thin one could swear they've been living off a rice diet.

I heard on the radio a few minutes ago that Tony Blair is behind a drive to include South Africa in a new grouping of the G8, which is rumoured to be renamed the G13, with the inclusion of countries like India and Brazil as well. Seems this links up with our discussion re: the big money moving into the country instead of outward... and http://www.firstnews.com.ua/en/politics/politics.html?id=70558 would appear to confirm the report.

I don't know where these people were two years ago when SA was granted the right to host the World Cup.

Concerning the hosting of the world cup, have anybody thought about how humiliating it would be if that priviledge gets taken away from south africa? AND THAT COULD JUST HAPPEN, as some rumours is already doing the rounds that fifa is looking for a back up host in case the crime issue in sa does not improve to a satisfactory level.

I am not being negative, i will leave sa, i will migrate to the us, europe, even oz, but in the end i will return as this is my birth land, this is a country i believe in and have high hopes for, but when will things improve? Once we loose the priviledge to host the 2010 world cup? When our president gets assasinated? When the minister of safety`s daughter gets gang raped? When the minister of defence gets tied to the back of his car and gets dragged for a few hundred k`s?

That is my question to you all, i am a proud south african, and i am proud of having my say, and proud of being allowed to have my say.

BUT where and when does it end? OUR police force is insuifficiant, even more so coz of corruption.

Rhino, how do you sleep at night with all those sick thoughts. Please, to quote Public Enemy, don't believe the hype. South Africa WILL host the World Cup. No-one from FIFA have officially has backed up the story from Rapport that it would be taken to Australia...I don't think a World Cup has ever been taken away from a winning host nation, four years before the start of the tournament.
If the same rationale had been used then Mexico would never have hosted the tournament. If the same rationale was used we should have no business hosting international sporting teams or big conferences.
But like pxthomas rightfully says, South Africa is too important a country on the African continent to ignore.

That my dear mr brix is the whole problem... I dont sleep at night, as i am too worried about this country and my future in it... i worry about when my turn comes to be brutally murdered...

Believe me, i disagree with Niel (www.crimexposuresouthafrice) about the way he tries to handle the issue, BUT something has to be done about it... Crime is a problem. BUT this is no place for it, except that our mobile charges is also a brutal crime

@Rhino: Are you for real. I admitt there is crime in South Africa, I take all the precautions and hope that I won't be hit but I never see myself as some sitting duck awaiting a bad fate... God no, I live life everyday, I enjoy it...I do things normal people do, I fall in love, buy things and crime does not/has not changed my lifestyle.

Maybe I should post some pictures taken last night at the lingerie show to cheer you up.

I don't sleep easily at night, reason being, I love the night, but also, the last year we have had two of those incidents where my sisters wake up and somebody is busy robbing their room...

twice nothing has happened to them, not that they(the criminals) didn't try, but still, if this keeps on happening, what are the chances of them getting through it unharmed? We can't just tell our women to suck it up. Tell them they are going to get raped every now and again, and they just have to live with that. Never mind the emotional scars, what about AIDS?

That is maybe part of the reason I sleep awake at night. I am not paranoid. I am waiting for some stupid criminal to try his luck....I have a stick...And I will use that stick to remove his manhood if he dares enter our house at night.

I once caught a guy at a friends house. Stealing food. He got 30 years as he was a rapist as well. That was a bloody mess, but I learned one thing, I handle well in situations like that. I just tend to be a million times more aggresive if it happens to/around the ones I love..

And that concludes todays look at "The dark side of Francois"...

Tune in next time....
