Newbie here... I brought my k750i to the Sony Ericsson dealer in the mall a few weeks ago hoping to have the firmware updated. The tech asked me if there was anything wrong with the phone and I said no... he then told me that it was risky to update the firmware and the phone might get f*cked up. In short, he pretty much scared me off... I not sure how risky it was or if he was just trying to scare me off.
I tried the SEUS software but I'm just on dail-up so it took too long and the computer hung on me.
I'm currently running on firmware version R1A044... is it really worth updating?
For the pinoys out there, where and how'd you update the firmware? I went to the SE branch in Glorietta and they were less than helpful.
And lastly, if I update, will I lose the mute on the camera sound? I love that feature that I can shoot pics without the sound.
Thanks!

Black UK Voda K750, 102338/68, currently R1AA.
New version of SEUS, including feedback survey. "Your software is up to date" or whatever the phrase is. I clicked "Install anyway".
My phone now sticks on "Please wait" when I boot it. It stays there for ever (as far as I can see). The clock screensaver kicks in, and I can turn it off normally (without removing the battery).
Does anyone have any suggestions? I've tried removing the battery, reflashing, uninstalling SEUS, deleting the SEUS folder, and reinstalling before reflashing, but I still get stuck.
Any help gratefully received...
Thanks
Tom
UPDATE: Rebooted phone with no SIM or MS, and I could see my wallpaper behind the "Insert SIM" message. Rebooted with SIM only, and it worked. Inserted MS, and all was well.
No idea what the explanation is, but there we go. Still R1AA, by the way.

@Vicser
When I clicked "Continue anyway", it appeared to flash correctly. I couldn't do a master reset, because the handset would stick on "Please wait" when I tried to turn it on. Or do you mean I should do a master reset now? I don't think it's worth it, since it still says it is on R1AA.
Cheers
Tom
