The X1 uses HTC's TouchFlo kinetic scrolling. Those TouchFlo folders are
supposed to be there (TouchFlo 3D GUI is a different thing).
As far as your battery life...do you have the auto-dimming feature of the screen turned-on? Are you getting good reception? Do you have some poorly written software that hogs CPU (therefore sapping the battery power?)

OK, that clears it up, i was about to go and do some drama at the store.
Auto-dim is on. I always click power for standby, when i'm not using it, works as key lock also.
I haven't yet installed too much stuff. CorePlayer, Regedit, TomTom, Remote Desktop, Barcode reader. Usually only Opera and Messaging/Outlook running on backgrond. When not using anything specific, i default to Today panel.

Anyone that has brought the X1 from o2 direct, not Carphone Warehouse...
Is there any branding??? Software / Hardware???
Cheers

DHL guy turned in an hour ago... So: O2 branding - YES. Unfortunately. TWO (!!!) branded unremovable panels on the main screen, one with a sort of O2 Today Page, basically simmilar to M$ but different shade of blue

and then the middle panel - it's full of O2 links. I don't really like it, and my little toy will probably get a de-branding reflash soon...

You'll most probably have to put HardSPL on your device before flashing it with an unbranded ROM (or any other ROM which does not match the original SPL of your device).
The guys at xda-dev seem to be working on a first release of HardSPL for X1, but it isn't out yet.

Just phoned O2, the X1 is showing as in stock on their website yet according to the person in retentions it is out of stock for a week. Sounds fishy to me, I've been waiting for this phone over 3 months now! Are new customers being given preferential treatment over us oldies?

Yep, on my X1 the TouchFLO folders actually contain just two wav files which HTC had used when kinetic scrolling was active. It's not the TouchFLO3D interface --- for that, go to the XDA forums.

I installed the WinMo Fring client on my Xperia, and had it working for a day.
Then I tried to launch it from the icon and it wouldn't load, or even post any error messages.
If I browse to Program Files/Fring and launch Fring.exe I get an error message that says 'fring' is not a valid Pocket PC application.
I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling from the cab, from the computer, through ActiveSync, and nothing works - same error every time.
Do you guys have any suggestions?
