Anyone that has brought the X1 from o2 direct, not Carphone Warehouse...
Is there any branding??? Software / Hardware???
Cheers

DHL guy turned in an hour ago... So: O2 branding - YES. Unfortunately. TWO (!!!) branded unremovable panels on the main screen, one with a sort of O2 Today Page, basically simmilar to M$ but different shade of blue

and then the middle panel - it's full of O2 links. I don't really like it, and my little toy will probably get a de-branding reflash soon...

I got mine from O2 retail and as you said there are two panels with O2 branding one is today panel (different skin) and a replacement of google panel.
I've unlock both of these panel and changed back to MS today panel and google panel.

You really should have kept that comment to yourself. The resolution of a camera has
absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the photos it produces.
I Keep hearing this statement get destroyed many times over in so many threads in so many forums related to smartphones.
* K800/K790a same arguement lived for some time and disproven when quality pics debuted; then after its successory proven.
* K850i same arguement lived for some time and died.
These are just 2 mentioned on these threads - regardless of the sensor & hype used same thing for & against.
I respect you're opinion Mizzle but you must understand those of us that have been on the forums longer than you here have read & participated much and seen it go around the mulberry bush just on this topic. So I'm curious how does the bright sunny day, low light/night portrait/landscape, and pure darkness with LED pictures compare to that of the Nokia N82 ?? I'm choosing this not because of it being picked as best picture phone of '08 by some industry but because it has proven many times in many threads the quality of all these ranges to be better than the K850i - a phone I've personally owned and 80% of the time found pics in the scenarios I've requested to be better in my old W810i.

has dawned into a powerful age of the smartphone and will gain marketshare with this device without a doubt if Nokia's main rival the E90 replacement doesn't debut. I would've almost returned to

Xperia if it were not for the keyboard which I'll have to try myself and the exhortation pricing in my countries dollars .... $1345CAN

(this because for the past 30 days the dollar here dropped 40% and finally gained back to equal out to 7% below what it has been for the past 2yrs vs the USA dollar just south of the border.
My main concern are 3 major things that I hope someone open minded will help me with.
1. Triband 3G. In Canada I'll need the 850Mhz/1900Mhz combination. Many ppl in my city are having issues with the N85 or Xperia X1i on 1900Mhz where no 3G is connected. Does the X1i not have 1900Mhz on HSPA?! If so then why are screenshots from a few ppl just 15pages back showing non-valid bands, and 1900Mhz yet its now working in Canada?
2. Keyboard. Is it really as slippery as it looks? Those keys look like polished metal and I'm concerned over the typing speed, as the travel.
3. Is this phone supporting WiFi in the following:
- WPA PSK 2 (AES or ?) for Consumer and Enterprise?
(Enterprise for WPA2 security is not just SSID hidden or encrypted but also specifies a user id & pw - not browser based like schools or hotels).
- Ad Hoc and is there an app like Joiku Spot Light to use the providers 3G APN connection over the devices WLAN so it can be a WiFi router?
- UPnP so I can host it as a drive to my PS3?
Thanks.
P.S. Canada does not use 3G on AWS spectrum yet. providers just got those AWS spectrum in an auction just 2-3mths ago and will take about 2-3yrs to complete.

Does anyone know if the X1 works with both the Sony Ericsson MBW-100 and MBW-150 Bluetooth watches?
I would imagine it should with the MBW-150 but I'm not sure about the MBW-100.
If anyone who owns an X1 and one of the watches could you please let me know.
Thanks.

Why not visit a pro photography forum and get a definitive explanation there ? Then, explain to us all HOW picture quality improves with more megapixels. Skill, lighting, stabilization and lens quality are far bigger factors in pic quality.

Add sensor size & quality, image processing hard & software, etc.
Some photographers are stating that the image quality is being determined by the 'weakest part in this chain'.
And that's why a pic taken by a dedicated 1.3 mp digicam easily beats that of a 3 or 5 mp phone camera in every aspect.
I'm not a pro btw, but it doesn't take a genius to get a rough idea of what pic quality depends on.
If you ask me, it's the 'man, this phone (or camera) sucks because it has only X mp' thing, which has to be destroyed in consumers minds.
