Are You guys ok? M2 ITS AN UPGRADE NOT DOWNGARDE Oo. Same with flash it has been upgraded to Xenon flash, i just don't unterstand you... And about video recording... SE could do better than nokia, but whats the point of making great video recording in a phone which is as big as N93? All can be done, but to be real good, it must feature all good stuff in small form factor... Hell they can even realease 20 MP phone with 10 optical zoom, which size will be like laptop or something... Whats the point?

All the downgrade comments are all pretty materialistic IMO - none of them matter all that much.

The phone has expandable memory, in a smaller format which costs about the same as normal Duo sticks - whats the problem ? other than making your old memory sticks redundant ?

No LED light ? oh come on, its not like the LED of the current phones is that bright anyway. Sure, you can use it to light up a small room or to help find something in the dark, but its not really a step back in technology. The LED was only ever meant as a light assist tool for the camera, the light function of the phone was one SE simply added as a bonus.

The phones size ? its only slightly bigger than a K750i meaning taller. If anything, i prefer the new size since i have rather large hands, it means i wont be dropping the phone as much. The size is also bigger to incorporate the larger display - would you guys rather have a tiny QVGA display that you'd need to squint at to read the small text on screen ?

And as for comments about the camera lens cover, how do you guys know its so bad ? just because it moves the opposite way to the previous phones ? surely thats a good thing, because when taking the phone out of a pocket, case of bag the lens cover wont be accidentally pulled open and wasting battery life. The same can be said for the battery capacity. Nobody here has the phone yet, so why comment on things that we've not had chance to test thoroughly yet ??

they are just being sarcastic only.
Like me, I am getting fed up on viewing all the posting of comparison between a nokia smartphone with SE normal mobile phone

it happened last yr when ppl compare K750 with N70 or N90

it just seem like ppl are bashing nokia coz they are using a much more powerful device to compare to something tht is not so powerful.

as if we are comparing a toyota Yaris with a VW Golf....and the reviewer is hoping yaris can beat Golf by a huge margin while ignoring the fact that Yaris is meant to be entry level compact car.

oh,dont tell about power, its about platform. You may find intersting to find that recent nokia s60 devices and se has even the same arm family processor inside. Its only about how well you implement the whole platform.

I think now that the K800 is 3g it would be a better comparison to a S60 phone...

from clubsonyericsson:

"May is going to be unexpectedly exciting with two Sony Ericsson product presentations on the 11th and 18th of that month, the second one being “the sh**”, an internal source confirmed (the Handycam?)...."

so, let's just wait for those dates to come and see what will be announced, then we can decide on buying the K800 or the Handycam phone...

Could you kindly explain what has been DOWNGRADED from the K750? You mention that it no longer uses MS Duo pro but I don't see how that could be seen as a downgrade. Admittedly, the limit for M2 is currently at 1gb, however it is reasonably priced at ~ £41.99 (You can check this here: http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Memory-Stick-Micro---M2 ) so that blows your $300 statement. The size will go up by the end of the year I'm sure and then it will no longer be an issue.

thanks for the link ^^
I saw the 1 gb here for 200 euro so I was freaked out

if they can get at least 2gb out this year with little to know firmware bugs at launch (HA HA HA AH A who am I kidding) this will be my next phone, it looks rather sleek and better built than the k750 (in my opinion) but I still think the camera quality is bad (from the photos I've seen online) if anyone can prove me wrong please do, video quality is a downside too especially if you have a camera that's 3 megapixels and seriously don't you think sony should have a K symbian camera phone out by now ?

i may be going a bit mad or something but...

with the small video, surely the k800 is actually capable of recording with a bigger video size/quality, SE just haven't chosen to put it in, but if its capable of such recording then would it not be possible for a future firmware or software upgrade or something that would enhance this?

just a guess or thought i had.

Skip back a few pages to when the phones were first announced with QCIF video capture, i said that i think the reason why the phones does not capture larger video is simply down to SE using old, slow technology which simply cannot handle higher resolutions.

I still stick by that comment today, and if true, a firmware update would not make it possible if the hardware itself cannot handle it.

it will seem logic for user to send HD like video thru mms or email thru HSPDA network.

so not suprise the first HSPDA phone from SE (using Ericsson new mobile platform) be able to offer that.

tht will match better to the theme they used to use.....quick share
