@cu - yes.. within the laws of physics, in a perfect world with the best software, Z1 < 1020 < 808. that's just the way it is. i just thought it's funny cause you seemed to knock down claims that the Z1 could get improved while you preach the 1020 could here.

And you seem to agree with me on this point. So why going in circles? It seems pretty clear to me.
Its the others who appear to be going around in circles with us. I think they all have the capability to take brilliant pictures, but these companies limit them for their own reasons. The 1020 is limited to make it appealing to the masses. The Z1 is limited by poor Sony camera software and a few hardware disadvantages. That Z1 image appears to be the same as the rest, sharp in the centre and terribly blurred in the other 75% of the image.
@ moogoo - I saw two people today with Sony Z or Z1s, not that I could tell the difference ! Sony seem to be getting popular. Two people in a group of about 30 in the pub celebrating someones leaving party. The rest were Galaxy S or iPhones.

@etaab - well sony has the advantage of android and a more stylish design (subjective). but yah. it seems that since the Z, sony has been gaining more popularity. even here in the US. and they do look very similar.. Z vs. Z1.

It's as if DPreview heard me saying they do no comparisons..
http://connect.dpreview.com/post/4485507296/shootout-sonyxperiaz1-vs-nokia1020-vs-lgg2-vs-samsunggalaxys4zoom?utm_campaign=internal-link&utm_source=news-list&utm_medium=text&ref=title_0_2
Very brief and quick comparison.
Why can't someone simply put a high-end compact along side these bunch of cameraphones?!
And too little photos and scenes.. Leaving on auto and full resolution with 1020..
In all these online reviews and comparisons, the full manual mode in the 1020 is very underestimated!
One could work wonders with it!
Even with my 920 I get photos that the phones would never come close getting by itself!

"The 1020 only struggled in our night shot. We took 30 shots with the Nokia but the shutter speed in such a dark environment was just
too slow to get even a single 100% sharp image. In those situations we recommend upping the ISO manually in order to achieve a faster shutter speed. As we've already pointed out in our full review, the Nokia's performance can occasionally feel a little sluggish."
Hm, I wonder what would happen if you put it on a tripod.. is it still going to go as slow as 1/9th ? I think 1/20th or even 1/30th with higher ISO should be fine.
The Sony Xperia Z1 also offers very high resolution results, but suffers from noise and artifacts at
all ISO settings.
Right, I am not sure why that is tho.. even at 50iso.. and I am puzzled by these small white specks in some images..
What is that ?
