I'm at work this morning but not doing much work so I think I'm going to post some pics.
If any of you guys were in Cape Town this week you would know that the Nokia Fashion Week has been in full swing...I managed to catch a couple of shows.
This is my favourite drink if you want to cause minimal liver damage. Taken in the early hours of this morning with a friend's 6280.
And this was my first drink when I got up this morning for work. Good old Rooibos tea. Taken with my phone's front camera.

That had to be one of the worst Bok performances of all time...what a crushing victory for Oz.
I'm just happy I didn't bother going to any one of the big Southern Hemisphere-orientated pubs in central London to watch the 0-49 'performance'...

Talking about that, i remember sitting in the movies seeing the telkom ad about the boy in africa being remotely operated on, saving his life. when i saw this i let go a big
bulls@!+, everyone in the huge movie house looked at me. a week later that ad was banned due to it being a load of horse dung. all these big companies try their luck. ticks me off sometimes, especially when telkom is involved.

LOL@ francioslr...that ad was a load of BS indeed.
I'm not the biggest rugby fan, occassional watch WP games but tell me now...how does a team like South Africa fail to score against the convicts, I have to concede I couldn't watch the game but still it should go down as one of the most pathetic performances from a Springbok team...I don't even want to pick up newspaper tommorow.

I am spending my day watching series1of Battlestar Galactica. Watched the intro movie/miniseries on my phone awhile ago. Too lazy to convert the dvds of the entire series. Has anyone seen it? i must say i am not huge on sci fi,do enjoy voyager(i am not a trekkie!) and star wars, but this is one enjoyable show! well done, and has a huge human element, relationally between the characters.

I'll never forget, as a lighty during my early years at primary school, being completely wowed and absorbed by the first Star Wars (Episode IV: A New Hope). The sheer scale and impact of those massive battle cruisers, the imposing Darth Vader, the dodgy characters in the Mos Eisley cantina, the enormity of the Death Star, etc. etc...and then, being only 7 or 8, not being able to save up enough pocket money to buy an Imperial TIE fighter, complete with pilot, from Reggies (Redgwoods in those days)...R33.00 for a toy was a helluva lot of money for a very young lighty back in the late '70's,well for me anyway.
I was hooked on (selected) sci-fi from then, watching the original Battlestar Galactica on TV and dressing up as a cylon for a primary school fancy dress day, watching 'Redding International' (dubbed Thunderbirds) when TV first came out in SA and Stingray, but never enjoyed Buck Rogers on Saturday nights quite as much ( maybe that bloody 'Twiki' irritated me too much for a start, although Wilma was hot...), and the more drama-focussed Star Trek had even less appeal for me.
If you guys ever make your way up here and want to check out a truly fantastic sci-fi shop, 'Forbidden Planet' is a must:

@ Amawanqua, have you seen any of the new battlestar galactica? if so, what do you think of it? and how is it compared to the old series back in the day? does it also have the series human relationships focus, what happens between the characters and so on?

@abu: warp speed, light speed- it's all the same to me
I watched the latest series of Battlestar Galactica and have to say that's it's absolutely brilliant because I had always been a fan of the Star Trek franchise.

I'm up and down stairs here, between taking wallpaper off with a steamer in the third bedroom and surfing the net, and checking out Moto GP qualifying on Sky TV's Eurosport.
@ francois,
Yeah the new series has been televised in the UK and I've watched a few episodes, but to be honest I haven't followed the new series at all.
What I have seen of the new series is far 'darker',more sinister, far more complex and deeper as regards character developments and relationships.
The original series had Dirk Benedict (also was 'Face' in the A-Team and one of the pilots in Chopper One from 19-voetsek) acting as Starbuck, Richard Hatch as Apollo and Lorne Green as Admiral Adama of the Galactica and the fleet. There was drama in those episodes, but it was somewhat more action/'mission-orientated' in each episode, with far more predictable outcomes. The threat of cylon battle fleets and the schemes of the unpopular Baltar (I think..or Boltar..can't remember exactly) were always looming.
Apollo was the idealistic family-orientated hero whereas Starbuck the obvious lady's man.
