@Mamba:
Let me try to explain how this will work.
To access this service, a subscriber simply plugs in a BPL(Broadband over Power Lines) modem to any power outlet and connects his computer to the modem to get data rates in the region of 25Mbit/sec.

@Amby I seriously doubt if NEPA has anything near this kind of technology on ground o! Maybe after 2056

Here's a beautiful picture of the Cape Town skyline at dusk taken by my friend, the wirelessmonkey, with his W900i. Picture can be found in the Phone Photo section.

@2tek: been offline for some days hence the delay in response. the number isnt *9***2#. Its *99***?# where the "?" stands for your phone's external id number. Check it in your account info in your phone. Most likely yours is 2 thus your number is *9***2#.

@all: whats all this talk about internet by high tension up till now? we all know NEPA/PHCN cant maintain basicservices. if they dare attempt this theyll end up frying thier equipment. and they'll still be charging you for the full month while they are down!!!

@deji: since no one wanted to take your bait on the middle east....

The plain truth is Israel keeps acting like the terrorists they are fighting. I have no qualms with the israelis hitting Hezbolla's soldiers on the feild, rocket launchers etc. but for them to shoot into towns, destoying buildings where they "suspect" the terrorists live, killing the families and neighbour, its too gruesome for a "ligit" state. for God's sake they hit they airports, bridges and the sewage system!!! For what? they are trying to breakdown Lebanon's sprouting infrastructure.

@coola: Welcome to Mtel!! Really, the network barely takes voice hear so it would be hard for them to open up to a large number of gprs subscribers. Im expecting you to join Team Naija!!!

@pxth: are you sure you are in Delta??? Are you really askin me whats wrong with NEPA??? not to state the obvious, if NEPA cant retrieve the billions upon billions they claim they are owed (how it amounted to such a number they know!!!!), how can they roll out another service successfully? I'll scan for your comment @deji.

@Abu...You got me wrong there. I mean why can't NEPA/PHCN live up to its obligation. We have both human and material resources to make it work but it is not working. Do we need to consult oracle?

That is the cue for another round of discussions about corruption my broz. I remember a few years ago when I lived in a face-me-I-face-you. Our NEPA power came via an arrangement by a NEPA Official thru an underground cable that passed under the road. The Guy had tens of customers.

We -four of us- paid him 200 bucks/mo. That worked out at 50 bucks each. No NEPA bill or disconnection. Beat that.

Multipy that by a couple of millions of similar cases and you see why NEPA can never make it in its present configuration.

The FGN is building Power Plants everywhere... except that the Niger Delta Boys can still blow up the pipelines AGAIN like they did on Feb 18, 2006.

@coola: apart from your petty misdemeanor, they claim to have onrecord billions owed to them. They claim most of the heavy debts come from military, police and customs barracks, etc as well as ministeries. its all bull****.

on another topic, just got back a few days ago so i'll start on your themes asap.

@all: still no one is comments on setiathome!!! say you love it!!! say you hate it!!! say something!!! did y'all conspire to jabbo me? or do i have to start knocking on doors?
