Consoles are fast catching up with the networked thing. it is true about it being more suited for certain games. fighting driving and flying games can work.due to limited input the easier to control games go on console. i mean, just imagine playing counter strike on a console. that would mean certain death. just imagine star craft on a console. would not even beat a notice with a mouse.

Have to agree with skull, I'm not much of a serious gamer... I get to play on my PS2 maybe twice a week- the other times I'm too busy with work and maintaining social balance.

Good find there Rhino, will check it out later.
I finally got onto Mxit, gave up trying to load the N70 version and instead went for the 6680 version which works perfectly.
Anyone in here play Socom3? Played it for the first time yesterday and it's absolutely brilliant...easy to learn but gets challenging just as you start to get the plot.

I recently received a brochure in the post from the organisers of that cellphone show that I attended last October, when the P990 (yes, over 9 months ago... now longer than the average human gestation period for this smartphone to birth itself on the international market) was first officially shown to a waiting world...

Anyway, this show/conference would be right up mario's street; it's the 'Mobile Application Platforms and OS' Conference. ('endorsed' by the Open Mobile Terminal Platform).
It's to be held in central London from 5-7 September.
A lot of big shots from Symbian,Telefonica Moviles, Glu Mobile, T-Mobile, the GM of SE's CTO Office, Finland's Elisa, France's Bouygues Telecom, Norway's Telio, etc.
There's also a pre-conference workshop on mobile viruses led by internet security gurus F-Secure. (I use their security package on my PC.)

Now the tickets for that cellphone show that I attended were free via email, so I was quite keen to see if I would be lucky enough to pay zilch again...Fat chance. It's a good thing I was sitting down when I saw the conference's prices...
To attend the 2 day conference, plus 'focus day' (LOL) the day before and pre-conference workshop , you will have to part with er... are you ready for this... £3168.98. ( approx R42000...)Goeie bliksem! Yhu hayi ga!

my word! 42000! that is bloody insane! obviously aimed at the upper range market, in other words, guys at the top of companies. now what kind of bang would you get for your buck? they will probably discuss mobile trends, where they THINK it is going, and ways to implement the service into the different fields. gosh i sound like a reporter!

so brix, mxit works? that is good! don't let it become a curse! ended up till 3 am last night chatting to two friends, one in the UK (googletalk works on mxit) and the other the other side of the city....sometimes i log in...and straight out again! we should connect, hey?

also @ brix, those pics are cool....the savannah one reminds me of my night so far. i have been on this savannah since 7or8...it is 1:30am....i wasn't feeling to well earlier.

I need to post some pics of me...no one knows what i look like...will do something about it soon! In the same breath, i discovered the video editor on my phone the other day...wow! i made a short...want to share it when i finished it...it is dumb, but cool considering i did everything myself. i want to start video blogging.

@ apple, you know what pisses me off? the fact that i have to crawl through 3 football fields of crap to get this pc to see this jolly ipod nano! the third pc i have tried! cursed is the device, i say!

Let me be the first on the thread to wish Madiba a happy 88th birthday.@francoislr: Although I find MXit usefull it's annoying when I try to log in at night and it gives me a denial of service message. Why can't Clockspeed improve their systems to cater for all the people who want to chat via their service? @da wanqsta: If that conference is happening in Cape Town then I'll definitely check it out.
