Hi Guys,
Unfortunately I have nothing to report....After being prompted by the phone to use the computer to get an update, it wouldn't allow me to do anything OTA, I plugged in only to be told I already have the most up to date software, but could repair.
Because I am largely happy with how the phone is running at the mo, and the very grave warning about my personal data etc. I decided not to repair.. Will just wait for the big update, hopefully that shouldn't be too long in coming.
Would be interested to hear from anyone running Generic UK FW that has updated in last day or so, to know what differences they have found. Might be worth using the repair option...
Thanks guys.

I updated yesterday after the update service told me that there was a new firmware available.
The update did nothing. Doesn't seem to run any faster and there are no new features.
The phone was running fine before and still runs fine, the good thing is that none of my programs or settings were reset.

Doing a OTA update or not a facatory reset while updating the phone does not give you the best potentional performance. due to "old-settings" and junk beeing left on your phone. a hard reset is always the best choice (programs are free to download on the market) there is some config to make for a few programs, but then again updates does not come that often and a "fresh" phone is always a joy. just my opinion.

i didn't do a fresh reset when i updated. i kept my settings and just did an update through SEUS. my phone's performance is noticeably better. Especially with the long-press menu. I'm curious if a fresh reset install would make it even better, but I'll wait for the eclair update to do that. performance is not such a big issue for me to have to go through reinstalling and configuring again

Coming from an Apple iPhone 3G I must say the one thing I love about Android is how small the file sizes are for apps and games. Its a big relief on my data bundles every month.

Currently I do not have a data plan because there is WiFi at the places I am at most. My previous phones (K790 and W890) receive MMS without any data getting charged. My plan has 1500 messages which can be text or MMS.
When I looked at my usage for sending one MMS, I am getting charged both for using a MMS message AND charged for the data too!
Is it possible to receive MMS on this phone without getting charged for data?
I'm using unlocked Rogers branded X10a on AT&T with R2BA020
I went to an AT&T store and they were no help. I'm going to call tech support tomorrow, but thought I would ask the experts here

^^ I was never charged for data when sending MMS from my old phones. I think this was because there was a separate MMS profile for picture messaging. Not sure how to set it up on the X10 though.
As far as I can see there is only one network option for both 'MMS & data'.
