@pxth: read your comment in a confrontational tone (as always!!!) my bad!!! in any biz there is always the prime directive!!!! KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE MONEY!!!!! since most nepa staff do not look at nepa as thier "father's own" they could allow such credit to build up without a drop of sweat. the problem is, as long as its a monopoly no matter if its NEPA or PHCN or Transcorp it will still be rotten to a degree. a nother company with proffessionals in power management have to tke it over from foundation to roof for it to turn around. any element left would be like leaving a peice of malignant cancer.

@Abu: I decided to keep mute about the seti@home project because I just couldn't see how I would allow my pc to be invaded by a third party programme using internet connections I pay for. How do I control what is being done on my system?

On the BPL issue, no one is advocating that PHCN should venture into internet service provision, someone merely asked about its feasibility and we tried to provide answers.

@amby: yeah, its true if your a bit paranoid about access by a 3rd party but since one already has so many 3rd party apps like messenger etc I dont mind this one. Its an established Organization, not a group of hackers. But its always better to be safe than sorry, right?

@all: any other comments?

Some one criticised the film at the South African thread yesterday or so. I will probably watch it. Of all the Comic Flicks, I want to watch the X-Men more than others. But I want to watch the whole trilogy at once.

Why do you want to send an anonymous SMS my broz? I know I can send a "flash" SMS from my PC using software like Float's Mobile Agent (FMA) and My Phone Explorer. I learnt about them here in Esato.

A flash SMS just rings and appears on your phone screen.... no need to go the SMS Inbox and dissappears without be stored after you finish.

@all Anything special going on in your life this weekend?

Well, this morning... I am watching my Adventures DVD, starting with "Sahara". The DVD has the Indiana Jones trilog, Romancing the Stone and Jewel of the Nile.

Sahara's opening scenes are in "Lagos" ... had to laugh... that place is no where near the real Lagos. But I think the film looks promising so far...

@coola: not all off us has free weekends like you O!!!! i wish i could say im spending the weekend watching movies!!!! it takes me days (usually 8 - 10 sittings!!!) to watch one movie. I just cram the time i stopped last then continue next time. Shows on nilesat's MBC4 and ONETV take up all extra time.

@2tek: what are you doing with hidden txts? want to send anonimous love letters to a secret admirer or you want to 419??? anywhich way, before i look for a high tech solution i look for a low tech solution!! Buy a new sim and use it to send your mystery msgs!!!!!

I use software on my PC: Float's Mobile Agent and My Phone Explorer. I reccomend My Phone Explorer. Just search for it here in Esato, download it and test it. I have not heard of Flash SMS done from a Phone.

@All Ok, I finished "Sahara". Well, its not as super as Indie Jones but its fun to watch. It was a little annoying to see them use another country and call it Lagos. Then their geography was crazy...

In the film, from Lagos they entered a boat and, straight-away, they were cruising along the "Niger River"... refueled somewhere in Nigeria... and landed in Mali... oh come'on. In real life, that would mean: Lagos-Niger-Delta-Lokoja-Kainji-next country. I think they should have started the film at, say, Lokoja... but...

Then there is a party scene with our flag hung wrongly. It was rotated 90 degrees!

Thank God all the "fighting" scenes were not supposed to be in Nigeria even though I am sure some Hollywood scripts now have Niger-Delta "militias" (I hate using that word) in it.

Makes me wonder how accurate the film was about the "Mali" scenes.

Lesson: Take Hollywood's depictions of certain countries/cultures with a pinch of salt.
