@ da brixtsa,
Cape Town it is: 19-20 October.
The list of companies at the exhibition is growing (the line-up has been updated a few times already) ...it's already looking very impressive:

There's a link for the exhibition's free tickets on there too.
Happy 88th birthday, Madiba!!! Have a good 'un, mhlekazi.

@da wanqsta: Ok, then it's done. Hopefully they've got some handsets for us to play with.

Happy bday Madiba! So, when is he joining the thread? lol!
@ brix, I know it is quite annoying about mxit. used to be worse. Their aim is to have 200 million plus people using mxit within the next 3 years (obviously also going international for that, not that they are not already: big international following) I have significant less problems with Mxit the last couple of weeks, but it's been bad again the last week. Maybe too many people signing up. South Africa is a brilliant testing ground for such an application.
Has anyone used the new russian cracked opera on their phones? WOW!
http://www.sonik.letsmoto.com/index.php?name=O lower down on the page. It has support for tabbed browsing, a file manager, and lots more( too lazy to explore) ps. looking for mobile games? the page that is on has almost a 1000 good games on it. check it out, especially the 3d games. Just, do it via pc...screenshots chow bandwidth.

@francoislr: I don't think Madiba has time to join the forums
Just a heads up, it's against forum rules to post links to warez sites even though all of us use warez. Like many people I can't recall the last time I payed for an application, when I did go the legal route I was shoved from pillar to post trying to get a refund for a malfuntioning RSS reader I had bought for my K700. I'm not saying don't pay but my experience has seriously put me off.

Was wondering whether anybody had heard the uproar over the racist ringtone mentioned in this article-

and whether anyone picked up on GW's gaffe as mentioned in this article-

I read something in the paper about Mandela during some sort of Book presentation on him that happened recently. The dude said the Mandiba was not the only activist to be jailed in the '50s but it was his "serenity" that made him stand out. That Mandela was always calm and peaceful.
I think that is just wonderful.
Many of us never develop humility and peacefulness. My President, Obasanjo, is a case in point. If Zidane had known that his last match could end like it did, he would have spent some time developing this important character trait.
We all have time... let's become more like Mandiba. Happy Birthday, Sir.

Very well said, Coola! From all accounts Madiba had a peaceful day with his family in Qunu, and quite wisely, had no public appearances on his schedule for the day, according to his personal secretary.
Let's hope and pray that his remaining years are blessed with good health and peace.

I don't think anyone should be shocked about the racist ringtone...That's South Africa for you, I wish people would start to realise that South Africa is for all it's people.

Taken with the Nokia 3230 this evening, inside the Tesco Extra superstore across the road. After brix posted a pic of his cup of rooibos, I thought I'd take a few pics of how this tea is marketed in shops here:
@ da brixsta,
I love rooibos as much as you love Black Label...

@Amawanq I wonder how the Store Clerks feel when they see you hunching over the counter taking shots with your phone. Hope it doesn't land you in trouble.
By the way, is it a South African brand?...
