@da wanqsta: Redbush? I thought they would use a one single trademark: Rooibos.
Btw, what's with the animosity towards this refreshing drink?

@ coola,
LOL no, they maybe just thought I'm some 'nutter' on AWOL from some asylum, and probably thought it would be best not to draw attention to such strange behaviour by apprehending the dodgy-looking character...
But yeah, I obviously had to take the last 2 pics quickly, perhaps pretending I was sms'ing, due to the obvious security issues that taking pics in malls and superstores raises.
@ da brixsta,
Bleeuurrgghhh, that haddock-coloured, waffy-aroma, "refreshing" drink that we are referring to really doesn't do it for me.
Perhaps it's just an acquired taste that I've never been able to acquire...at all. Not that I'm complaining that I haven't, but I see myself tackling mgqombothi or amaghewu (sorry if spellings are way off...

) before developing a deeper appreciation for rooibos...

Eish, if it doesn't kill me i'm prepared to drink nearly anything. I won't necessarily enjoy it, but i'll drink it... The hazards of calling on parents are many, folks... In certain houses i've been served tea, in its many guises, in others all kinds of hot beverages, ranging from coffee to Horlicks, and in some i've been given drinks which would make many a grown men stagger, provided enough of the liquid was consumed. Anybody ever tasted skokiaan? It's a vile concoction taken by those who are truly on skid-row, the very poorest of the poor who cannot go without a drink. To call it revolting is to grace it with an acceptable name. People go blind from this stuff lol. I was given a glassful by one very inebriated father one afternoon when i'd gone to visit the parents of a hooligan-in-training. Out of politeness i drank it, said my piece then did the Elvis thing asap, drove at breakneck speed to the closest cafe and consumed a litre of Coke in what must have been a world-record time, just to get the taste out of my mouth. So when it comes to rooibos, or other such drinks, bring em on, fellas!

Here's my list of horrible drinks:
1) Black Label aka Zamalek.. I can't stand it...it's like Kryptonite to this black man. In Kimberly it goes by the name of "quickcharge" and "1011" for it's ability to render it's poor victims drunk in quick time.
2) Whiskey...can drink it but won't because of the bad hangover I get the next morning.
3) Umqombothi...although I'm black this drink is only reserved for special functions. A word of caution to all prospective cassanovas, don't go kissing a girl after you had a swig from the calabash.
4) Papsak...The Cape is renowned for it's good wines although Jeremy Clarkson in recently dismissed our attempts at wine. I think he might have had a swig from a papsak because it is truly the worst excuse for wine ever produced. It's putrid and gives you horrible hangovers.

@da wanqsta: I saw Superman Returns on Monday( it opened on July 7) and honestly it was one of the more boring movies I've seen this year, V for Vendetta being the other one. I actually fell asleep halfway through the movie because it got too tedious.

Check out
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/07/13/zidane_headbutt_outrage/ on your computers....it is well over a meg, but it is SO funny!
Sorry for pushing illegal wares sites! I won't do it again publically! So if anyone wants anything out of me, PM only=)
Talking on that subject, many people have said this and I will echo it: the mobile games and applications market is sort of silly. I have seen 1 out of all the 1000 games I have downloaded that I would have paid the money they asked for. Concerning applications, the same. A little application called Vibe. The only problem with this is you cannot get support for the best, as the example with vibe, their website does not work anymore, and it is hard to find out anything about it. Vibe is a MIDI maker type of app. Very cool!
I enjoy my ciders, amstel, wiskey, the more expensive, the better...as long as my boss buys it, which he quite often does.
Bad drinks: I remember some skurwe afrikaanse drink I once had at a party. Think the label on the bottle was yellow and red. I don't remember anything after that.
Strohrum is always nice, but gosh it is way too strong!
Bad coffee..you get those people that just do not know how to make coffee...you have to feel it when you make a good cup! (concerning instant)
Papsak: Got pissed on that stuff on a hiking trip, on the way there. Remember me forcing the driver to stop at the toll gate cos i was about to burst. being drunk and in need of a pi$$ is not fun!lol!
I once remember when I was playing in a punk band we did this gig: payed entrance, drink as much as you can. The barman was an ass: did not want to give shot glasses for tequila, so got about 3 shots in the glass allocated. That, my friends, was bad! Never gig drunk! ( a rule I maintain, but that was the once)
Also had my first (and only) black label there. Some cop/barman prepared it for me. It had a shot of sambucca in a shot glass in the bottom of the glass, and black label inside. Interresting, but no.

@Francois, i think that drink is called a Tequila Submarine, i used to do that with J&B and Amstel

unless i'm mistaken it's also called a depth-charge...
Speaking of brewing times, and the various brews, could anybody post a link pointing to more info on the specific length of time it takes to brew the various beers... My colleague read the post concerning "quickcharge" and he's as intrigued as i am!
