Haven't seen Event Horizon in years...so I can't recall it's exact details but from what I remember it was a good sci-fi/suspense movie.

Das Wanqmeister is officially on UK Summer holiday as of today....woohoo!!!!Nearly 6 lovely weeks of waking up late and farting around at my leisure.
Can hardly believe that it was a year ago already that I was last in SA. Gonna miss not being 'home' this year, but after laying out so much money for our property here, we'd be seriously stretching our finances if we still bought plane tickets and allocated further holiday allowances.
Work has been insanely hectic up until the final proceedings this afternoon, hence my relative absence over the past day or two.
@ Kryptik,
LMAO, I can empathise with that scenario, ie. filling in to disseminate course training/feedback amongst staff at a moment's notice due to sudden unforseen circumstances...
Right, tonight I'm doing sweet FA apart from watching a few DVD's from our local Blockbuster store...bugger, the Budweiser's run out and I really don't feel like traipsing along to Tesco now; methinks I'll bum a few of Mrs A's Smirnoff Ices instead until I do some shopping again tomorrow.
We're experiencing another 10 consecutive days of 30+ degrees celsius; a lot of the grass around here is actually going completely yellow like it does in most parts of SA during long, hot Summers...weird seeing this happen here amongst an increasing number of areas around the traditionally green English countryside...

Only 30 degrees? Better not visit some parts of Nigeria around March.... up to 34 sometimes.
Where is the hottest place on planet earth... I wonder? Apart from Volcanos of course...

@ eraser_druid, welcome! hope to see more of you around!
@ jmash, talk about the Grudge, what a scream! I watched it with a friend at the movies...3 minutes into the thing he was sitting with all fours in a corner of a chair, saying to me that he didn't know it is a scary movie!!! lol! So i replied, off my chair laughing, which was pretty much my state the whole movie because of watching him, "Um, did you see the poster? That was certainly not a poster for a cinderella movie!" Oh my word, I lauged so much!
@ Event Horison, this same guy, Jim (the legendary) was the best with that....I think he got close to wetting his pants...I can almost understand why...that one freaked me out a little, and it does take a lot (Judging the fact that I can watch a movie like the Grudge and still be entertained by a friend that is scared witless!)
@ CoolApostle, the UK has been clocking 34 aparently...my friend said it was quite bad, and he is an SA/British citizen who surfs, so maybe it was...but then again, a full on shot of the sun on his tv would give him sunburn!lol! We sometimes clock about 34 some days...pretty bad...the worst I have had was 37 in the bush facilitating a camp...day of "prison escape"...and inside there it was high 40's...had to split it in sections because the kids would almost pass out after 3-5 minutes in there..usually it is a once off strech they do it in ranging from 27-80odd minutes...
So my night has been great...been housesitting last week...just stayed here as my friend came back, just went for the weekend. Tonight we are all just sitting around doing our own thing...DJ Paul Russell making music, Barbara came to complain about life and play games out of sheer boredom from watching me make a poster for her employer...she owes me...Handsome, my best friend, more like a brother, came round, brought his boet, Barbara made him (Laven) believe she is lesbian! lol! And had some Heineken's, which was very nice...Also, the evening was entered into witha braai...always braai after work on Fridays....
Ahh, life is good!
Also been listening to some net radio station from the
www.kingdomofloathing.com website...the dj's are wack, but some of the music they play is SO cool! Quite a wide range of music! Stuff I have never heard before in our limited music market...

@ coola,
Francois's correct with his statement there; yesterday peaked at 36 degrees in parts of the county of Surrey, below Greater London.
This is a new record for the UK for the month of July.
The highest ever recorded here was in 2003, when the mercury peaked at the 38 degrees mark... and a lot of people have a misconception back home about the UK Summers as being only 'mild'.
The humidity levels compound this really 'muggy' type of heat as well.

I've had a great Friday night in Jeffrey's Bay, spent most of the evening at a restaurant called The Mexican, listening to some live music, chilling with buddies. The rain is hammering down here, and sleep is not an option, so i've done what's nearly impossible for me, and turned on the television. There's an excellent movie playing; i'm unsure of the title, but Jamie Foxx plays the role of Ray Charles, and i have to say, his interpretation is rather brilliant, well worth a watch if you haven't seen it before.

francois: Your Friday evening seemed quite entertaining. I watched a boring movie with my little brother and chatted on MSN with a friend of mine. Couldn't go anywhere last night due to the cold weather conditions...and no, I've got no desire for 34 degree heat...that happens in February down here.

Another emphatic defeat for the Springboks...at least it was less disastrous than shockingly poor showing last week...
There hasn't been too many noteworthy cellphone price reductions over the past week or two; the K800i has only dropped by a mere £10 (approx R135) this week.
Orange UK are supplying free broadband internet with cellphone contracts which are £30 a month or more. Still not nearly enough to entice me, Orange... Sky TV are now also providing free broadband to its subscribers.

Can you explain further? Is it that when you pay for Sky's subscription/setupbox you will also get free broadband thrown in?
